  • Patent number: 6882994
Abstract: The present invention provides techniques for answering a user's query to a database system. An embodiment provides a database querying method in which a first data item is obtained from a Data Base Management System (DBMS) database table in response to a query request. A second data item is obtained by referencing a DBMS updated log file, having log data associated with the first data item, for example a timestamp. The first and second data items are then integrated and returned as an integration result to the query request. In one embodiment the first and second data items are integrated in a virtual table in accordance with a predetermined business rule.

  • Publication number: 20050027680
Abstract: A definition tool of the present invention declares columns which are concealed in external tables to a multi-database server. The multi-database server controls a decomposition and an execution of query messages such that the multi-database server does not perform an arithmetic using the concealed columns. The external database server encrypts the data of concealed columns in tables of query result tables. The multi-database server designates a range to be decrypted at the time of acquiring and integrating respective result tables. A client program acquires an integrated result table and decrypts the designated range. Since the data encrypted by the external database server is decrypted by and is referred to the client program, it becomes difficult for the multi-database server to refer to a content of the concealed columns.

  • Publication number: 20020198899
Abstract: When a database area multi-written or replicated in an external storage unit is separated, a database management system writes consistent data into the external storage unit. A method and system capable of controlling a timing of separating the replicated database area is provided. Furthermore, new data directory information necessary to access the replicated database is dynamically added based on the data directory information of the replication source database. A method and system capable of selecting whether to access the database which is the source of the replication or access the replicated database are provided. Thus, when the database area multi-written or replicated in an external storage unit is separated and physical replicated databases are created, it is possible to maintain consistency of the replicated databases while continuing transaction processing.

  • Publication number: 20020116373
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optimization method in a database management system having the function of accessing external databases. Conventionally, whether functions contained in a query can be executed in external databases depends on a database management system having the functions, and therefore there has been a problem in that a database utilization method cannot apply to query optimization and query execution performance is reduced. To solve the above problem, a database management system having the function of accessing external databases is provided with an optimization step comprising the steps of: obtaining specification about whether to execute functions in a query in external databases; determining whether data referred to in a query is confined to one database; and determining whether a user specifies that the functions in the query are executed in external databases.

  • Publication number: 20020055921
Abstract: There is provided units for managing and defining a virtual table access privilege, an integration-target-DB access privilege, and access-privilege mapping information for making the connection between them. A processing unit for performing the access-privilege decision on the level of the virtual tables by using the definition contents of the information, and a processing unit for converting the virtual table access privilege into the integration-target-DB access privilege are provided. System structuring working on the AP (application) side and that on the integration-target DBMS side can be carried out easily in parallel to reduce the load imposed on the system structuring working.

  • Patent number: 6032198
Abstract: In a method for supporting the design of a plurality of programs distributed on a network and operated through the communication between the programs, each program is defined, a relation between programs is defined, interface information of each program is defined, and the interface defined for each program is converted into an interface definition language (IDL) format to generate an IDL file. The definition of each program and the definition of the relation between programs are performed by providing a graphic display screen to which a program represented by a symbol and a relation between programs represented by an arrow are inputted as definition information by a user. The definition of interface information is performed by inputting information defined by the user in an interactive manner.

  • Patent number: 5380511
Abstract: A process for producing silicon carbide-base complex is disclosed. In the process of this invention, a silicon carbide-base complex is produced by means of depositing carbon produced by means of pyrolysis of a gas comprising a hydrocarbon or a hydrocarbon halide on a porous synthesized silica glass body. As a result, the process of manufacture according to the present invention is capable of producing a high purity and a high strength silicon carbide-base material, which is useful as a jig for producing semiconductors, for example, a heat resistance jig material such as a process tube for wafer boats used for heat doping operation.

  • Patent number: 5104698
Abstract: A method and apparatus for impregnating a fibrous base material with a varnish liquid, wherein the so-impregnated base material is substantially air free. A base material is passed under the surface of and through a supply of low-viscosity liquid such as to impregnate the base material with the low-viscosity liquid and displace air from the base material so as to provide a substantially air-free base material. The air-free base material is passed through an entrance for and into a syphon. An inert gas is supplied to the syphon so as to maintain an inert gas atmosphere therein sufficient to maintain the air-free condition of the base material. The air-free base material is then passed through an exit of the syphon and under the surface of and through a supply of varnish liquid sufficiently to displace the low-viscosity liquid from the air-free base material and impregnate the air-free base material with the varnish liquid.
