    Abstract: To suppress static leakage in a seal device, a seal lip is configured for sliding contact with a seal flange that includes a thread groove exerting a fluid pumping action at a time of shaft rotation. The seal device prevents sealing fluid on the inner-machine side from leaking to the outer-machine side between a housing and a rotating shaft inserted into a shaft hole on the housing. The seal lip is attached to the inner periphery of the shaft hole and the seal flange is attached to the outer periphery of the rotating shaft. A sliding area in the seal flange in sliding contact with the seal lip is a flat surface with no thread grooves, and has an outer peripheral side area and an inner peripheral side area, which each have a thread groove exerting a fluid pumping action when the rotating shaft rotates.

    Abstract: Static leakage is suppressed in a sealing device, where a sealing lip slidably makes contacts with a sealing flange, in which a thread groove exhibits fluid pumping action during rotation. Sealing device performs sealing between a housing and a rotating shaft inserted into a shaft hole in the housing to prevent sealed fluid on a machine inner side from leaking to an outer side. A sealing lip mounted on an inner periphery of the shaft hole slidably makes contact with the sealing flange mounted on an outer periphery of the rotating shaft. The thread groove intersects an edge of the sealing lip. An inner peripheral tube portion is provided on an attachment ring that holds the sealing lip. An inner peripheral lip that slidably makes contact with the inner peripheral tube portion is provided on the sealing flange side on the inner peripheral side of the thread groove.

    Abstract: A universal joint boot having a boot body including a bellows part and an opening portion which is formed in one end of the bellows part and into which a case for receiving one member of two members moving relatively to each other is inserted. An annular adaptor is mounted on the inner peripheral surface of the opening portion and has an outer peripheral surface formed nearly in the same shape as the inner peripheral surface. The adaptor has a fixing portion that is pressed by the inner peripheral surface of the opening portion of the boot body, thereby being fixed to the case. A reversing portion is located opposite to the fixing portion with the opening portion between them and sandwiches the opening portion together with the fixing portion. A folding portion is located where the reversing portion is folded back to the outside. Hence, the universal joint boot can be easily assembled.
