  • Patent number: 7786992
Abstract: A method for rendering multi-dimensional image data having a plurality of objects is disclosed. The method includes the following steps: providing an object database for storing the objects, providing a first pointer storage block, obtaining a depth value of the objects as a pointer which points to an address of the first pointer storage block, storing the pointers of the objects in the object database into the first pointer storage block and according to the depth value, sequentially searching the first pointer storage block to take out the objects from the object database for displaying the image data. The method is able to skip the comparison operations for every object with different depth values as found in the prior art. Therefore, the method can reduce the amount of computation and the occupied memory bandwidth.

  • Publication number: 20070165047
Abstract: A graphic rendering system capable of performing real-time compression and decompression, which includes a storage device, a decompressor, a rendering engine, a first real-time compressor, a frame buffer and a first real-time decompressor. The storage device stores a compressed sprite image and a compressed background image. The decompressor performs a decompression operation to thereby obtain a sprite image and a background image. The rendering engine performs an image processing on the sprite image and the background image to thereby produce a partial display image. The first real-time compressor performs a real-time compression processing on the partial display image to thereby produce a compressed partial display image. The frame buffer temporarily stores the compressed partial display image. The first real-time decompressor performs a real-time decompression processing on the compressed partial display image to thereby output an image signal for display.

  • Publication number: 20060250526
Abstract: An interactive video game system. An image input device produces consecutive images including a participant in a field of view. A luminance processing device obtains a luminance change of a current image in accordance with the consecutive images, wherein the luminance change indicates an active region of the participant. A field hit checker and a motion detector check if the active region ranges in a digital region or compute a motion and direction of the active region in accordance with the luminance change of the current image and a digital information, thereby generating an output signal. A rendering engine controls a sprite image in accordance with the output signal and accordingly displays the result on a display. Thus, the participant can play an interactive video game.
