  • Publication number: 20060103940
Abstract: A method for configuring luminous zones and circuit zones of pixels eliminates the black lines problem occurred to the displaying picture caused by the layout of the circuit zones. The invention adopts the stripe layout but has the circuit zones and luminous zones of the active display device forming an image by inversion at 180 degrees such that the circuit zones and luminous zones of neighboring pixels are laid in staggered fashion, so that the circuit zones are not laid on the same straight line to prevent the displaying picture to be divided by black lines.

  • Patent number: 6984936
Abstract: A method of driving a plasma display panel to improve display brightness and luminescent efficiency. • Publication number: 20050206591
Abstract: A driving circuit of active matrix organic electroluminescence diode is disclosed. Each pixel includes three TFTs and two capacitors. A gate of scan reset TFT is controlled by the scan line of the row where the pixel is located and a drain of scan reset TFT is connected to the data line of the column where the pixel is situated. Detect TFT is controlled by one Threshold-Lock line. One capacitor Cd is used to store data voltage (Vdata) of image signals and the other capacitor Ct is used to store the threshold voltage (Vth) of driving TFT. Therefore, the sum of capacitors Cd and Ct will drive the driving TFT to output the corresponding current to the organic electroluminescence element.

  • Patent number: 6943757
Abstract: A method for driving a plasma display panel (PDP). The PDP includes a first electrode and a second electrode. Initially provide the first electrode with a first voltage V1. Next, provide the second electrode with a second voltage V2 that is higher than the first voltage V1 during a first time interval. Then, provide the second electrode a third voltage V3 that is lower than the first voltage V1 during a second time interval. In the first time interval, a first voltage difference D1 between the first electrode and the second electrode equals the second voltage V2 minus the first voltage V1. During the second time interval, a second voltage difference D2 between the first electrode and the second electrode equals the third voltage V3 minus the first voltage V1.

  • Patent number: 6937215
Abstract: A pixel driving circuit of an organic light emitting diode display panel includes a scan TFT, a Vdd-connected TFT, a driving TFT, a diode-connected TFT, a storage capacitor, a reset TFT, an OLED-connected TFT, and an organic light emitting diode. A reset TFT is connected to the diode-connected TFT and a previous scan line. An OLED-connected TFT is connected to the driving TFT and the light-emitting line. An organic light emitting diode is connected to the OLED-connected TFT and the ground. The amount of output current to the OLED does not depend on the threshold voltage of the driving TFT and only depends on the amount of the data signal voltage to be written. Thus, the variance in the threshold voltage of the driving TFT caused by the factor of the manufacturing process can be compensated to improve the non-uniform image defect.

  • Publication number: 20050134536
Abstract: A driving apparatus of a multiple-scanning driving circuit relating to a simple pixel structure of 2T1C (2 TFTs and 1 capacitor) includes a write-scan circuit, an erase-scan circuit and a data driving circuit. A write-enable line connected to the write-scan and the data driving circuits is used to control the signals of these two circuits. One erase-enable line connected to the erase-scan and the data driving circuits is used to control the signals of these two circuits. Thus, a circuit system of time-multiplex multiple write-scan and erase-scan is completed to solve the problems of a low time utility rate and an insufficient luminance in a digital driving AMOLED system.

  • Publication number: 20050093799
Abstract: The invention relates to the driving circuit and method of an active matrix organic electro-luminescence display. The writing thin film transistor (TFT) gates of all pixels on the scan line are connected to the scan line. The resetting TFT gates of all pixels on the scan line are connected to the front scan line of the previous row. The switching TFT gates of all pixels within the driving block are connected to the block control line of the driving block. The above block division control and pixel driving circuit design can be used to present gray scale by modulating the display time-ratio. This invention makes use of block separation control and pixel driving circuit design to improve the defect of the timing-inefficiency of the existing digital driving technology tremendously.

  • Publication number: 20050068274
Abstract: A driving apparatus and method for active matrix organic light emitting display includes a writing element, an auto-zero element, a driving element, a switching element and a storage element. The invention employs an auto-zero mechanism to compensate threshold voltage variations of each driving element to improve image uniformity. Data loading is accomplished by charging the storage element with a current. Loading voltage may be modulated by controlling the amount of current and by controlling charging time. The invention saves a capacitor than conventional techniques, and can increase the aperture ratio of pixels and reduce the complexity of driving method.

  • Publication number: 20050062696
Abstract: A driving apparatus of a display device for automatically adjusting the optimum brightness under limited power consumption aims to obtain different ratio of the brightness to the image data value under different image loading. When the picture image loading is greater, the driving device of the invention automatically decreases the ratio of the brightness to the image data value to ensure the power consumption of the display panel being lower than the specification value. When picture image loading is smaller, the driving device of the invention automatically increases the ratio of the brightness to the image data value to increase the display brightness of the panel image and enahnce the contrast ratio.

  • Patent number: 6867619
Abstract: A shift register includes at least one stage circuit that has at least three voltage control switches, a storage element, and a first clock signal, a second clock signal and a third clock signal to control various switches. Input signals are stored in the capacitor and sequentially transferred to the next stage. During transferring to the next stage, pixel switches of one row on the panel display are activated to receive information delivered from the data end for displaying on the pixels. The clock signals have the characteristics that the first clock signal, second clock signal and third clock signal are not at the same certain potential concurrently to prevent the switches of each stage (the second and third switches) from forming a DC path and burning out.

  • Publication number: 20050007026
Abstract: A method and apparatus aims at generating uniform images of an active matrix OLED display device which consists of a plurality of pixel devices. Each of the pixel devices includes a driver unit to drive an OLED to display. The cathode of the OLED connects to a positive power supply which provides a voltage to increase the electric potential of the OLED and reduce the voltage difference between the source electrode and the drain electrode (Vsd) of the driver unit during operation and keep the voltage difference between the source electrode and the gate electrode (Vsg) unchanged so that output current fluctuations of the driver unit decreases while the driver unit is ON when the threshold voltages are different due to characteristic variations of the driver unit.

  • Publication number: 20040263085
Abstract: An organic light-emitting diode display device has a scan line layout that has different sizes of pixel areas depending on their scan line distance to control the display areas. For the line which has a shorter distance and lower voltage drop, the pixel display area is greater. On the contrary, the line which has a greater distance and greater voltage drop, the pixel display area is smaller. Therefore each display pixel has the same current density. Thereby the entire organic light-emitting diode display device has an uniform display brightness.
