    Abstract: A catching toy having an excellent usability is provided. The catching toy catches a target by throwing a main body at the target with a top end of a string fastened to a hand of a player. The main body includes a reel to wind and extend the string, and a flat spiral spring. After the main body is thrown, the flat spiral spring rotates the reel in a predetermined direction to wind the string around the reel.
