  • Patent number: 5323904
Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette accommodating case has a cover member having a pocket for receiving one end portion of a magnetic tape cassette and a casing member having rotation stopper projections. At least (a) peripheral portions of the cover member and the casing member, which edge portions confront at least the thickened portion of the magnetic tape cassette, and (b) side wall portions of the cover member and the casing member, the side wall portions including the pivotably assembled portions, are molded with a resin, which is more slidable than the other portions of the cover member and the casing member. The other portions are molded with such a transparent resin as to allow the case to be seen through. A method for manufacturing such a magnetic tape cassette accommodating case utilizes a first slide core slidable in a direction of inserting a cassette, and a second slide core movable substantially orthogonal to the direction of moving the first slide core.

  • Patent number: 5318739
Abstract: A method for manufacturing the half body portions of a magnetic tape cassette or the like having an image transfer layer on its outer surface. An image transfer film is placed in a molding cavity, which film includes a base layer, a matting layer, and an image transfer layer. The function of the matting layer is to roughen the surface of the image transfer layer, while allowing easy subsequent peeling therefrom. A molten plastic is injected into the molding cavity against the image transfer layer. After the resulting product solidifies, the product is removed from the molding cavity, and the base layer and matting layer are peeled from the product, leaving the image transfer layer on an outside surface of the product.

  • Patent number: 5229906
Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette in which protrusions made of low friction resin are formed on the inner walls of the upper and lower halves by a two-color molding method in such a manner that they are located in correspondence at least to the magnetic tape winding diameter so as to be in contact with the edges of the magnetic tape. The protrusions of low friction resin replace the friction sheets in the conventional magnetic tape cassette, whereby the number of components and the number of manufacturing steps are reduced, with the result that the manufacturing cost is also reduced.

  • Patent number: 4862305
Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette having a locking member locking the tape reels and a prism for transmitting light reflected therein across a tape transport path to detect the end of the tape. The prism receives and transmits the light through two holes in the cassette case. A projection on the locking member moves between the holes when the reels are unlocked to block light spuriously reflected from the incident surface of the prism from being detected as light transmitted through the prism.

  • Patent number: 4840326
Abstract: An magnetic tape cassette of the type in which the tape is wound on flangeless hubs and the tape is pulled out through an opening in the cassette for recording and reproducing having improved tape winding characteristics. An annular projection is formed around each of the flangeless hubs, and a rib having about the same height as the annular projection extends radially outwardly from the radial projection in an area corresponding to the first-wound portion of the tape. The rib keeps the tape from deviating sideways as it is initially wound onto the hub.
