Publication number: 20210217146Abstract: An image processing apparatus notifies downstream circuits of the result of anomaly detection without increasing the amount of data involved. The image processing apparatus includes an anomaly detecting section and an output section. The anomaly detecting section detects an anomaly of an image signal from a given pixel. In a case where the anomaly is not detected from the given pixel, the output section outputs a pixel value within a predetermined range. On the other hand, in a case where the anomaly is detected from the given pixel, the output section outputs a pixel value outside the predetermined range. This enables downstream circuits to identify the pixel of which the anomaly is detected by whether or not the pixel value falls within the predetermined range.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2019Publication date: July 15, 2021Inventors: MAKOTO YOKOTA, SHINGO NAGATAKI, HIROYUKI TANAKA

Patent number: 7529400Abstract: A sub-sampling portion (101) sub-samples images of data corresponding to the left and right viewpoints. A joining method selector (104) selects the joining method that minimizes the discontinuity at the boundary in the joined image when the sub-sampled images of data are joined. A joining portion (102) joins the plurality of images data, based on the selected joining method. An encoder (103) encodes the joined image data, and a joining method encoder (105) encodes the information of the joining method. A multiplexer (106) multiplexes these pieces of coded data. In this way, the continuity of the joined image is improved, whereby the coding efficiency is enhanced.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2003Date of Patent: May 5, 2009Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroyuki Katata, Tadashi Uchiumi, Takashi Yasumoto, Shinya Hasegawa, Shingo Nagataki, Masatoshi Tsujimoto, Motohiro Itoh

Publication number: 20080019445Abstract: A bitstream comprising only I and P frames can be reproduced at a high speed without increasing the process amount nor degrading the picture quality. A prediction structure of the P frames of a coded bitstream is modified, and a control unit (112) is used to cause a variable length coding unit (105) to add and code a prediction usage flag indicative of whether the P frames can be referred to from the following frames and a reference image number notified, as information indicative of the frame numbers referred to by the P frames, by a motion detection unit (111). The coded image of a frame, in which the prediction usage flag is set up, is stored in a frame memory (109) and can be referred to during predicting and coding the P frames.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2005Publication date: January 24, 2008Inventors: Tomoko Aono, Shingo Nagataki, Shuichi Watanabe
