  • Publication number: 20100173277
Abstract: An objective of the present invention is to provide effective methods for suppressing rejection in organ transplantation, in particular, pancreatic islet transplantation which is useful in treating diabetes. The present invention demonstrated that antibodies against HMGB-1 suppressed the rejection in pancreatic islet transplantation and promoted the survival of grafted pancreatic islets. Thus, the present invention provides agents that comprise an anti-HMGB-1 antibody for suppressing rejection in organ transplantation.

  • Publication number: 20090297546
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an anti-human HMGB1 antibody having high capability of binding to human high mobility group box protein-1 (HMGB1) with a high probability. According to the present invention, a highly sensitive immunoassay method and immunoassay reagent for human HMGB1 in a sample using the anti-human HMGB1 antibody are provided. Specifically, provided herein are: an avian-derived anti-human HMGB1 antibody specifically binding to the amino acid sequence shown by the following formula (I): Lys Pro Asp Ala Ala Lys Lys Gly Val Val Lys Ala Glu Lys Ser (I) of human HMGB1; and an immunoassay method and an immunoassay reagent for human HMGB1 in a sample, which are characterized by using the antibody.

  • Patent number: 7246842
Abstract: A visor for an automobile is provide, which does not impair the design of the automobile when mounted on a window frame of the automobile. A side visor includes a brim portion made of stainless steel formed along a window frame of an automobile, and a visor portion made of acrylic resin formed so as to expand from the brim portion when mounted on the brim portion. The brim portion is provided at its lower edge with a connecting portion. The visor portion has an inner side of an upper edge that is provided with a bonding portion having a width approximately equal to the width of the connecting portion and expanding inwardly. By bonding the connecting portion of the brim portion and the bonding portion of the visor portion together by an adhesive tape, the brim portion and the visor portion are connected together.

  • Patent number: 5733549
Abstract: Amino acid sequences having specificity as lipoprotein (a) and low homology with LDL and plasminogen are selected from the amino acid sequence of lipoprotein (a), and antibodies to lipoprotein (a) which recognize these amino acid sequences specifically are obtained. At least one of these antibodies is used in immunological techniques for the determination of lipoprotein (a). Moreover, an amino acid sequence having specificity as apolipoprotein (a) and not having antigenicity as lipoprotein (a) or plasminogen is selected from the amino acid sequence of apolipoprotein (a), and antibodies to apolipoprotein (a) which recognize this amino acid sequence specifically are obtained. At least one of these antibodies is used in immunological techniques for the determination of apolipoprotein (a).

  • Patent number: 4622085
Abstract: A plurality of injectors of the present invention are connected to a single source of a high-pressure gas to inject an adhesive material into cracks and delaminated sections of a building concurrently. Each injector has a front piece for attaching to a target area. An assembly comprising an inner container containing an adhesive material and an outer container enclosing the inner container is attached to a single cap to make a liquid-tight and gas-tight connection, respectively, and the cap is attached to the back of the front piece to make a liquid-tight connection by means of matchingly tapered surfaces. The inner container is elastic and has a concave bottom surface so that a high-pressure gas introduced into the space between the inner and outer containers can push out the adhesive material efficiently and smoothly from the inner container through the front piece.
