Abstract: A language processing device includes first analysis unit 21 that subjects a natural language sentence containing a polysemic word and other words to a predetermined analysis and outputs a plurality of analysis results for the natural language sentence according to a plurality of meanings of the polysemic word, second analysis unit 23 that performs a particular analysis on the analysis results outputted from first analysis unit 21, and employs one of the analysis results, and generation unit 244 that generates a deletion rule for deleting one or more unnecessary analysis results of the first analysis unit 21 which has been deleted from the analysis results outputted from first analysis unit 21 but employed by second analysis unit 23, according to the analysis results outputted from the first analysis unit 21 and the employment result of second analysis unit 23.

Abstract: A system according to the present invention searches for information related to entered text and presents searched information to a user with a minimum interruption to user's document formulating work. An input analyzing module 11 analyzes text entered by the user and extracts a search key. A related information searching module 12 searches a related information storage device 3 for information on the search key. A storage module 16 stores therein the search results collected for a plurality of past search keys including the latest search key and the positional information on each search key within a document. A controlling module 13 searches the storage module 16 for the search key corresponding to the position of a cursor. The controlling module issues an instruction to change a search button to a first display format if there is no related information, or an instruction to change the search button to a second display format if there is related information.

Abstract: In a processor for extracting information on a specified field from a text described in a natural language, keywords and structural analysis are jointly used to improve the performance. When a set of keywords is divided in more than one sentence, this set of keywords is assembled by context defining words in a sentence. A multi-language summary generator uses this type of a processor.

Abstract: A system for helping the production of a desired translation by aiding the operator to make revisions within the text results of each stage of the translation process. The system achieves this goal by receiving text inputted by the operator and conferring IDs to each character of text, and for this text, successively proceeding through morphological analysis, conferring of equivalents to content words, and conversion of sentence structure to that of the target language while referring to a dictionary/grammar section and conferring IDs to corresponding language units. Text corresponding to each stage is stored and moreover, the stage to which translation has advanced is detected, and upon receiving a designation as to which translation stage the operator wishes to have displayed, outputted text of the translation process designated by the operator is copied from the corresponding buffer if the most advanced translation process at that time is beyond the designated translation stage.
