  • Patent number: 11933644
Abstract: A touch detecting apparatus includes an electrostatic sensor provided on an object; and a processor configured to detect whether a hand touches the object based on a capacitance measured by the electrostatic sensor. The processor is configured to, in response to the capacitance being greater than or equal to a first touch threshold, detect that the hand touches the object, and, for a second predetermined time from when a change amount of the capacitance during a first predetermined time becomes greater than or equal to a noise threshold, continue a state where a correction value has been added to the first touch threshold.

  • Patent number: 8685710
Abstract: A photodetector detects fluorescence emitted from a sample placed on a substrate of a DNA chip. There is an irradiation optical system for guiding irradiation light by a first optical waveguide, gathering the irradiation light by a first lens and irradiating the sample. A reception optical system gathers fluorescence at an input-side end surface of a second optical waveguide by a second lens and guides the fluorescence to a measuring unit. The irradiation optical system and the reception optical system are separate light guiding paths. The reception optical system is of a confocal optical system in which a focal point on the sample is identical to a focal point at the input-side end surface of the second optical waveguide of the reception optical system.

  • Patent number: 8211708
Abstract: The light measurement apparatus of the invention, in which the light is irradiated to the sample dispersed in the liquid flowing through the flow passage, is used for measuring optical information of the sample. The apparatus includes a light source portion 20 for irradiating the irradiating light L to the liquid 11, a light receiving portion 31 to receive the optical information of the sample S including the irradiating light transmitted through the liquid to generate a receiving light signal SG1, under a condition in which the liquid is irradiated by the irradiating light of the light source portion 20 in a state that a relative position of the sample S to the irradiating light varies at constant speed, a measurement portion 120 for measuring variation of the receiving light signal according to the sample.

  • Patent number: 7543470
Abstract: A roll straightener which is capable of being switched between a zigzag type and an opposed type is disclosed. The roll straightener has an odd-number of pairs of upper and lower rolls. A group of the lower rolls including the second lower roll from an insertion side of the straightener up to a lower roll located at a middle position are movable in vertical and transverse directions of the rolls, while the remaining upper rolls and lower rolls are movable in only the vertical direction.

  • Publication number: 20070062239
Abstract: A roll straightener serving as both zigzag type and opposed type and capable of being easily switched from one to the other between the zigzag type and the opposed type and being manufactured at low cost is disclosed. The roll straightener has odd-numbered pairs of upper and lower rolls. Plural lower rolls (22, 23, 24) from a second lower roll (22) counted from an insertion side of a work (10) up to a lower roll (24) located at a middle position are made movable in both vertical and transverse directions of the rolls, while the other upper rolls (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17) and lower rolls (21, 25, 26, 27) are made movable in only the vertical direction. As a result, a change can be made easily from one to the other between a zigzag type roll straightener and an opposed type roll straightener and the manufacturing cost is so much reduced.

  • Patent number: 5566223
Abstract: A communications system includes a host-exchange system having a host exchange, a mate-exchange system having a mate exchange accommodating a mate-exchange subscriber terminal, and a communications medium connecting the host-exchange system and the mate-exchange system together. The mate-exchange system includes a first unit for collecting maintenance information as to whether or not the mate-exchange subscriber terminal is operable, and a second unit for sending the maintenance information to the host-exchange system via a transmission range allotted to the mate-exchange subscriber terminal on the communications medium. The host-exchange system includes a third unit for monitoring a state of the mate-exchange subscriber terminal on the basis of the maintenance information from the second unit and for controlling a call addressed to the mate-exchange subscriber terminal.
