  • Publication number: 20070201339
Abstract: An optical disk recording apparatus and method utilize a recording beam source, a spatial light modulator that modulates a recording radiation beam into an information beam carrying information and a reference beam, a focusing unit that focuses the information beam and the reference beam on an information recording layer, an image sensing device that detects the intensity distribution of the information beam, and a control unit. The control unit controls the spatial light modulator on the basis of the intensity distribution detected by the image sensing device. A recording/reproducing apparatus can check the amount of information capable of being recorded onto an optical disk, and an optical disk therefor.

  • Publication number: 20070201338
Abstract: An optical disk recording apparatus and method utilize a recording beam source, a spatial light modulator that modulates a recording radiation beam into an information beam carrying information and a reference beam, a focusing unit that focuses the information beam and the reference beam onto an information recording layer, an image sensing device that detects intensity distribution of the information beam, and a control unit. The control unit controls the spatial light modulator on the basis of the intensity distribution detected by the image sensing device. An optical disk recording apparatus, and a control method thereof, thereby has a high signal-to-noise ratio.

  • Publication number: 20070074230
Abstract: An optical disc recording and/or reproducing apparatus in which an opening is provided on a cabinet and a disc tray provided with a through portion is supported so as to be capable of reciprocating so that the opening can be opened and closed. The disc tray is provided with a shutter which is positioned to open at least a part of the through portion when the opening is in the closed state. The shutter is positioned to close at least a part of the opened through portion when the opening is changed from the closed state to the opened state. Accordingly, by such structure and methodology, increase in temperature of the components mounted on an optical pickup can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070036054
Abstract: An optical disk apparatus which reproduces information stored along tracks in recording layers of an optical disk includes a light illuminating medium which illuminates a light beam to a target track and at least one specific track of the optical disk, a reproduction unit which detects a reflected light beam from the optical disk to generate a first reproduction signal from the target track and a second reproduction signal from the specific track, a memory which stores a compensation signal obtained on the basis of the second reproduction signal and corresponding to a cross talk component between the recording layers, a subtracter which subtracts the compensation signal from the first reproduction signal to generate a third reproduction signal, and a decoder which decodes the third reproduction signal to obtain the information.

  • Publication number: 20060239143
Abstract: An optical head apparatus includes a focusing unit focusing the light beam on a selected one layer of a 0th and a first recording layers, a tracking unit tracking control to track the focused light beam on the selected layer, a first signal generator detecting reflected light from the optical disk and generate an output signal including information recorded on the selected layer and an undesired signal component due to other layer of the 0th and the first recording layer, a second signal generator generating a compensation signal equivalent to the signal component by using a relative eccentricity quantity between the 0th recording layer and the first recording layer and a position of the focused light beam on the optical disk with respect to a radial direction thereof, and a subtracter to subtract the compensation signal from the output signal to generate a reproduction signal.

  • Publication number: 20060077869
Abstract: An optical recording media has a disc substrate and two or more recording layers arranged apart from each other with a dielectric layer interposed therebetween to cause optical change simultaneously by irradiation with light, in which a first recording layer positioned near the disc substrate has a higher optical change temperature and a higher extinction coefficient compared with those of a second recording layer and a later recording layer.

  • Patent number: 5926402
Abstract: A simulation method for performing a simulation with respect to a trace object that an event occurs depending on a probability in a domain to be analyzed. The simulation method includes the step of dividing a flowing field into cells serving as domains to be analyzed, the step of arranging molecules serving as the target object in the cells, the step of performing the simulation such that the molecules are moved in the cells and the number of stickings or a sticking amount occurring on a wall surface or a film portion as the result of the movement larger than the number of times of the event or a change amount led by the probability, and the step of outputting, as a simulation result, a film profile obtained as the result of the simulation.
