  • Publication number: 20140340515
Abstract: A first image and a second image are obtained from a same image object under a first condition and a second condition, respectively, and the first image is edge enhanced by using information obtained from the second image. A first edge amount is obtained from each of a plurality of first pixels of the first image, and a second edge amount is obtained from each of a plurality of second pixels of the second image. Each pixel of the first image is edge enhanced according to the sign of the first edge amount thereof and the second edge amount of the corresponding second pixel.

  • Publication number: 20090016574
Abstract: An authentication system includes the following elements: a guide mirror to be used when a subject checks the position of the eye with an image reflected therefrom during imaging the eye of the subject; a lens disposed behind the mirror; and illuminating LEDs that are disposed symmetrically about the optical axis and can be switched for emitting near infrared rays. With this structure, the authentication system takes a plurality of images of the eye of the subject irradiated with illuminating rays from the illuminating LEDs at different lighting angles to the eye of the subject, determines whether the taken eye images are of a living eye or a forgery, and authenticates the iris.

  • Publication number: 20080152198
Abstract: A living body determination device for determining whether or not an object is an eye of a living body. The living body determination device has an imaging section for taking an image of an object, a light source section for emitting light rays to the object at an angle different from the angle at which the imaging section images the object, and a partial light spot detection section for detecting, from the image taken by the imaging section, a partial light spot of the object. The living body determination device determines whether or not the object is an eye of a living body depending on whether or not the partial light spot has been detected by the partial light spot detection section.
