  • Publication number: 20040185526
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of N-benzyloxycarbonyl-&agr;-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester (Z-APM) by high-conversion enzymatic coupling of N-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-aspartic acid (Z-Asp) and L-phenylalanine methyl ester (L-PM) in a reaction mixture comprising an aqueous medium, a neutral protease as enzyme and an alkali metal salt, alkaline earth metal salt or ammonium salt, with formation of a precipitate. The enzymatic coupling of Z-Asp and L-PM is carried out in a continuous or fed-batch process at a pH of from 5.0 to 6.5 and an average charged molar ratio of Z-Asp and L-PM between 1:1 and 2:1 and wherein the actual molar ratio of Z-Asp and L-PM is higher than the average charge molar ratio. Preferably the alkali metal salt, alkaline earth metal salt or ammonium salt is present in an amount of from 3 to 25%, calculated as % by weight based on the total reaction mixture.

  • Patent number: 6683409
Abstract: A structured lighting material, an illuminator, and the method to generate incoherent luminescence wherein luminescent intensity increases superlinearly when excitation energy applied thereto through electron beam, electric charge, electric field or the like exceeds a threshold. In the present invention, the structured lighting material is easily made to have a minute uneven surface. This invention enables high-efficient lighting devices, sensors and memories owing to the superlinearity.

  • Patent number: 5951683
Abstract: One of processors connected effectively to a system is allocated to a master processor and the other remaining processors are allocated to slave processors. Each processor compares the self processor number of a processor number register and the processor number of the other processor of a processor effective register. For example, when the self processor number is smallest as compared with the other processor numbers, it is recognized that the self processor is a master processor. A master initialization diagnosing process after completion of the allocation is monitored by the slave processor. When an abnormality of the master processor is recognized, a degeneration to disconnect the master processor from the system is executed and is again reconstructed by the allocating process of master/slaves. Even when an abnormality occurs in the master processor, the operation in which the system was degenerated can be executed until the minimum construction in which two or more processors normally operate.

  • Patent number: 5901599
Abstract: A sheet forming method including the steps of: holding a blank between a blank holder and an opposing die so that wrinkling is prevented in the blank; and forming the blank to an objective shape with a punch, while imposing a force of a variable bead on the blank at a selected position in a point manner and only during a part of the entire forming period selectively. An apparatus for conducting the above method.

  • Patent number: 5735163
Abstract: A method of effecting press working on a blank, in which a local portion of the blank is strengthened prior to the press working, so as to achieve increased mechanical strength, due to structural transformation of the material of the blank, or by an embossing operation. The local portion is selected so that the blank exhibits improved formability and suffers from reduced fractures during the press working.

  • Patent number: 5476668
Abstract: A cellulose ether having a low degree of polymerization is used as a base for film-coating pharmaceuticals. The cellulose ether having a low degree of polymerization obtained by causticizing a pulp having a copper number of not more than 0.4 g, adding an etherifying agent to form a cellulose ether having a high degree of polymerization, then refining it with hot water, drying by heating, finely pulverizing the dried cellulose ether and depolymerizing the fine powder has high whiteness and is thus suitable for use as a base for film-coating pharmaceuticals. The viscosity of a 2% aqueous solution of the cellulose having a low degree of polymerization is preferably not more than 20 cSt at 20.degree. C. The cellulose having a low degree of polymerization is selected from methyl cellulose, hydroxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose and hydroxybutyl methyl cellulose.
