  • Patent number: 7600935
Abstract: An image forming apparatus has a planetary gear mechanism that transmits driving force from a driving motor to a resist roller when a cover is closed, and that stops transmitting the driving force to the resist roller when the cover is opened. The planetary gear mechanism includes a first gear to which the driving force from the driving motor is transmitted; a second gear that transmits the driving force to the resist roller; a planetary gear provided between the first and second gears; and a third gear that transmits the driving force from the first gear to the second gear via the planetary gear when the ratchet gear is locked by a lever, and that disconnects the transmission of the driving force to the resist roller when the ratchet gear is not locked.

  • Patent number: 7128315
Abstract: A discrete paper feeder includes a speed reduction mechanism for transmitting rotation of a driving motor to a separation roller, a disc member having grooves, a lever member on a grooved side of the disc member, and a slide pin projected from the lever member and slidable along the grooves upon disc member rotation. The speed reduction mechanism includes a sun gear, an internally-toothed gear, and planetary gears. The disc member is disposed on one end of the separation roller rotation shaft and secured to a geared section having the internally-toothed gear. The lever member is radially slideable relative to the disc member. A rotation stopping member regulates rotation of the lever member. This structure minimizes peripheral speed differences to prevent image distortion and elongation. Even when peripheral speed difference is minimized, a predetermined interval is provided between sequentially transferred manuscript sheets.

Abstract: The discrete paper feeder of the present invention includes a speed reduction mechanism section for transmitting the rotation of a driving motor to a separation roller after reducing the speed of rotation, a disc member on which grooves are formed, a lever member provided on the side of the grooves of the disc member, and a slide pin that is provided on the lever member in a manner projecting and slidable along the grooves by the rotation of the disc member. The speed reduction mechanism section includes a sun gear, an internally-toothed gear, and planetary gears. The disc member is disposed on one end of the rotation shaft of the separation roller and secured to a geared section provided with the internally-toothed gear. The lever member is disposed slidablly in the radial direction of the disc member. Also, the rotation of the lever member is regulated by a rotation stopping member. This structure enables prevention of distortion and elongation of recorded image by making peripheral speed difference small.

  • Patent number: 6179289
Abstract: Paper-feed control of an image-forming apparatus, in which the control unit has a paper-feed-motor-drive-controller for controlling a paper-feed-motor. The paper-feed-motor rotating a resist roller and a paper ejection-roller for feeding printing paper. The paper-feed-motor is controlled to perform a plurality of paper-feeds of predetermined width on a sheet of printing paper. An image is formed on the sheet of printing paper after respective paper-feed. The paper-feed-motor is controlled by the paper-feed-motor-controller to perform the paper-feed such that the end of the printing paper remains in contact with the resist roller from which the end of the paper leaves after the final paper-feed.
