  • Publication number: 20040234927
Abstract: An artificial maxillary molar unit which enables a user to bite through food without a pain, and an alignment instrument which facilitates to make a denture using the artificial maxillary molar unit are provided. The denture is made by using an artificial maxillary molar unit 6. An artificial maxillary molar has an occlusal surface on which a ridge 8 having a sharp edge is aligning along a line corresponding to a ridge of a cusp on an occlusal surface of a natural maxillary molar. The ridge of the occlusal surface of the artificial maxillary molar has opposite sides each formed as a concave surface 9 having a gentle inclination from the occlusal surface toward a root. During the making of the denture, an alignment instrument having one surface on which an impression corresponding to the occlusal surface of the artificial maxillary molar unit 6 is provided.

  • Patent number: 6470266
Abstract: In a vehicular navigation system, an electronic control unit uses in its recommended vehicle travel path determination processing restricted-type roads the data of which is less reliable than those of normal roads. A display device indicates the recommended travel path on a road map displayed thereon. When a vehicle travels on the restricted-type road, a travel guidance specific to the restricted-type road is issued to notify a driver of traveling on the restricted-type road and thereby invite the driver to decide himself or herself. The guidance may be in a vocal announcement from a speaker and/or a visual display on the display device.

  • Patent number: 6470263
Abstract: In a navigation system for vehicles, a type of road a vehicle travels is determined based on a present position of a vehicle and road data, and a change in the type of road is determined. The road type is determined based on the type of link the vehicle travels referring to a table storing a relation between a link type and a road type. A travel distance is accumulated until the travel distance exceeds a predetermined determination reference, when the road type remains unchanged. An instant vehicle speed is calculated each time the vehicle travels the determination reference. An average vehicle speed is calculated by using the instant vehicle speed calculated for each road type. The average vehicle speed is used to notify an estimated time of arrival at a destination or a passing point.

  • Patent number: 5089967
Abstract: An auxiliary steering control system in connection with an anti-skid control system for use in a motor vehicle with two parts of left and right wheels, the anti-skid control system being adapted to independently control braking pressures for at least one pair of left and right wheels and including a braking actuator for adjusting braking pressures to be applied to the pair of left and right wheels. The braking actuator is controlled so that the braking pressures therefor approach the target braking forces determined on the basis of the rotational speeds of the wheels. The steering control device includes a steering actuator for adjusting steering angles of the pair of left and right wheels in response to steering control signals from a steering angle control unit.
