  • Patent number: 5618098
Abstract: A headlamp for a vehicle includes: a lamp unit including a reflector having a front opening, a lens covering the front opening of the reflector, and a light source bulb disposed within the shell formed with the reflector and the lens; and a lamp body supporting the lamp unit therein, the lamp body including an inward projecting portion, wherein the lamp unit abuts on the inward projection portion.

  • Patent number: 5597232
Abstract: A reflector, a metal halide lamp and a container casing containing a lighting circuit board for the metal halide lamp are mounted within a lamp housing. The container casing, having a generally rectangular parallelepiped shape, is mounted on the lamp housing through a bracket extending along the rear surface of the reflector in tilted relation to a vertical axis. If an impact is applied to the front side of a headlamp, the container casing rises, thereby protecting the container casing from breakage because of a cushioning effect obtained when the container casing partially deforms the reflector.

  • Patent number: 5463341
Abstract: An electric multiple-valued register for electrically maintaining a multiple-valued digital signal of a ternary value of (0, 1/2, 1), quaternary value of (0, 1/3, 2/3, 1) or quinternary value of (0, 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 1) instead of a binary digital signal such that 1 digit is of 0 or 1 is realized by inserting an element having a stair shaped voltage-current characteristic into a coupling circuit of a conventional flip-flop circuit. It may be used for a quantization circuit with the aid of a step characteristic, a multivalued memory, a multivalued register, a multivalued loop memory, a multivalued pattern matching circuit, a voice recognition divide, pattern recognition device, or a associative memory device.

  • Patent number: 4893156
Abstract: The disclosed MOS FET device has a semiconductor substrate of for instance n-type, on which a drain zone of for instance p-type and a source zone of for instance p-type are formed with a channel zone disposed therebetween. An insulating thin film is disposed on the channel zone and a gate electrode is formed on the insulating film so as to face the channel zone across the film. At least one of drain zone and the source zone has a tapered portion whose diminished edge extends into the channel zone so as to face the other one of the drain and source zones.

  • Patent number: 4299259
Abstract: This invention is directed to a method of making lead storage battery plates including the steps of notching a lead alloy sheet or other type of thin sheet, spreading the sheet in reticulated portions, expanding the sheet into a grid, and filling pasty active material into the reticulated portions. The strip of long material is cut, respectively, into plates of a given size. The open ends of the openings on the right and left ends produced during the cutting operation are sealed with synthetic resin frame body portions to prevent the slipping out of the active material filled into the reticulated portions. Therefore, lighter and thinner plates are continuously made with better operational efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4296303
Abstract: In an intercell connection of a multi-cell storage battery of the type having, in each unit cell separated by at least a partition wall of battery cell having an opening for said intercell connection, a pair of upstanding connectors integral with straps electrically conductive to electrode assemblies of one polarity and the other polarity, wherein the one of the connector has a projection formed integral therewith and extending horizontally therefrom passing through said opening, and the other of the connector has an aperture with the axis extending horizontally to be capable of accepting said projection extending through said opening, the intercell connection method is characterized by comprising the steps ofpositioning such one connector and the other connector of neighboring unit cells on opposite sides of said partition wall so that said projection can pass through the opening into said aperture to form a fit joint inbetween, andcausing said fit joint be fused together by supplying said joint with a heat
