  • Patent number: 11738794
Abstract: A steering device includes a frame including an upper portion and a lower portion, and a runner moveable relative to the frame at the upper portion of the frame. The runner includes a plurality of segments longitudinally spaced between a first end and a second end. A sensor is configured to detect at least a first segment of the segments. A controller is communicatively coupled to the sensor. The controller is configured to determine a position of the runner based on the detection of at least the first segment and generate one or more signals based on the position of the runner for use in turning one or more wheels.

  • Patent number: 11180044
Abstract: Enclosed herein is an electric motor vehicle cooling system that cycles liquid coolant from an electric motor vehicle charging station into an electric motor vehicle and back, to cool batteries of the electric motor vehicle during charging. The liquid coolant is pumped by a pump in the electric motor vehicle charging station through channels in a cable that is plugged into the electric motor vehicle. The cable has an adaptor with ports to allow the liquid coolant to exit the electric motor vehicle charging station, travel into the electric motor vehicle to cool the batteries, and return back into the electric motor vehicle charging station from the electric motor vehicle. This electric motor vehicle cooling system allows the electric motor vehicle charging station to perform most of the work of cooling the batteries of the electric motor vehicle, without overly taxing on-board thermal management systems of the electric motor vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20160310333
Abstract: A entry and exit assist system for a vehicle has a mounting slot formed within a door of the vehicle. A wheelchair has a set of wheels and a seat coupled to the set of wheels, wherein the set of wheels are one of detachable from or foldable under the wheelchair. A supporting connector is coupled to the wheelchair. The supporting connector slides into and engages the mounting slot holding the wheelchair above a ground area when the set of wheels are one of detached from or folded under the wheelchair. A seatback is slideably mounted on a track in the vehicle. Closing the door with the supporting connector engaging the mounting slot and holding the wheelchair above a ground area positions the wheelchair in the vehicle. The seatback provides back support for a user of the wheelchair.

  • Patent number: 6516656
Abstract: An improved emission sampling and measurement system is provided for continuously sampling and analyzing the chemical content of a vehicle emissions and the ambient air for data evaluation and comparison. The emission sampling and measurement system comprises a vehicle having an emissions source, devices for intaking vehicle emissions and ambient air, and analysis devices for determining the chemical content of the emissions and ambient air. The gas streams may be dried in a series of selectively permeable drying tubes prior to measurement in the analysis devices, in order to effectuate a more precise sample of the constituent elements of the gases. Following analysis, the data collected is processed, stored, and compared, and the results displayed on a screen in the vehicle driver's compartment in a real-time manner. In this fashion, real-time comparative data analysis is presented in a format not presently available.

  • Patent number: 6346142
Abstract: An improved drying system is provided for removing moisture from gases such that a sufficiently dry gaseous sample is available for accurate analyses of the constituent components. The drying system includes a series of selectively permeable drying tubes or tube bundles located in a shell, where the moisture is removed from the gaseous sample via an ionic channel that extends through the tubing walls. The selectively permeable drying tubes allow water vapor to pass through the tube walls, but prevent the adsorption of most other gases. The sample gas is drawn through the tubes, and dried air is made to pass past the tubes in a counterflow direction. The first stage of the selectively permeable drying tubes is heated to raise the dew point of the gas stream, while the later stage is cooled in order to enhance the drying efficiency of the system. In this fashion, water vapor is removed from the gaseous sample stream in a more efficient manner than is presently available.
