  • Patent number: 7029610
Abstract: In a process for producing a polyurethane-foam product molded integrally with an insert, wherein a molded body, including a substrate and a polyurethane-foam molded body being molded integrally with the substrate, is produced, the substrate being disposed in an expansion-molding mold as the insert, a fine groove-shaped polyurethane-foam relief groove and a polyurethane-foam adjuster are formed in an end of the substrate and/or a mold surface of the expansion-molding mold which contacts with the substrate. The relief groove communicates with a cavity of the mold. The adjuster communicates with the relief groove, and has a volume larger than that of the relief groove. The relief groove and the adjuster can control the pressure exerted within the cavity. Polyurethane foam, which is formed by the relief groove and the adjuster, adheres to molded product. Therefore, it is possible to obviate the deflashing operation. An expansion-molding mold therefor is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6631937
Abstract: A soundproofing cover absorbs noises, produced by a vehicle. It is fastened to a plurality of vehicle-side installation portions, and includes a cover body, composed of a polymer foamed substance, and a plurality of brackets, held integrally to the cover body. The respective brackets have an installation portion and a holding portion. The installation portion is to be fastened to the vehicle-side installation portions. The holding portion is held and fastened integrally to the cover body. At least two of the installation portions constitute a datum bracket, connected by one of the holding portions shared commonly. The positioning accuracy can be improved in the installation of the soundproofing cover to the vehicle-side installation portions so that the installation operability can be upgraded. In addition, the increment of the weight can be kept minimum so that the lightweighting requirement can be satisfied.

  • Patent number: 5330387
Abstract: In an elastic coupling including first fixtures, second fixtures, a reinforcing member in a loop-like shape and an elastic covering member, the reinforcing member is made by connecting one longitudinal end and the other longitudinal end of a stranded wire. The stranded wire is formed by twisting the appropriate number of metallic wires. Since the metallic wires do not shrink by heat, the metallic wires do not shrink during the vulcanization. Thus, the variety of the spring constant of the elastic coupling can be reduced. Also, since the metallic wires are very strong, the number of winding the stranded wire around the first fixtures and the second fixtures can be reduced and therefore the size of the elastic coupling can be prevented from increasing.

  • Patent number: 5024461
Abstract: An upper support for a suspension system, having an inner and an outer rigid member, at least one generally annular elastic body interposed between the inner and outer rigid members for elastic connection therebetween, and which defines a generally annular fluid chamber that is filled with a non-compressible fluid. The upper support also includes an annular resonance member which is accommodated in the fluid chamber, and which is supported by one of the inner and outer rigid members so as to radially extend toward the other rigid member, so that the fluid chamber is substantially divided into two sections located on axially opposite sides of the resonance member. The upper support further includes a support device for elastically supporting the resonance member with respect to the above-indicated one of the inner and outer rigid members, such that the resonance member can be axially displaced relative to the one rigid member due to elastic deformation of the support device.

  • Patent number: 5005810
Abstract: A fluid-filled cushioning device having a cylindrical elastic body mounted on an inner sleeve and having an orifice structure with an orifice formed therethrough is disclosed. A pair of annular elastic members each having a retainer member and an outer sleeve are mounted on the inner sleeve such that the retainer member is press-fitted in the axial end portion of the inner sleeve while the orifice structure is sandwiched between the axial end faces of the outer sleeves, in the axial direction. A bracket is mounted on the outer sleeves of the elastic members and is fixed to a support member, so that the bracket forces the outer sleeves against the orifice structure. The inner sleeve, elastic body and elastic members define two fluid-filled chambers which are separated from each other by the elastic body and which communicate with each other through the orifice.
