Abstract: A stabilized solid preparation having stabilized drug content and stabilized appearance, comprising a main ingredient layer and a coating layer formed on the main ingredient layer, wherein the main ingredient layer comprises a granule or a fine particle comprising a substance capable of being unstabilized when losing water of crystallization and a water-soluble polymer and the coating layer comprises a water-soluble polymer and a sugar.

Abstract: Tablets quickly disintegrating in the mouth which comprise a bitter drug ingredient and a bitterness-reducing ingredient composed of an essential oil, a high sweetness-sweetener and/or an acidic phospholipid or its lyso-derivative. When taken even without water, these tablets exhibit little bitterness. Thus, a bitter drug ingredient can be formulated without coating into tablets quickly disintegrating in the mouth.

Abstract: This invention relates to an intraocular irrigating composition containing a compound of the following formula or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.The glutathione derivative contained in the intraocular irrigating solution of this invention is not only effective in protecting the intraocular tissues on the occasion of ophthalmic surgery but effectively inhibits precipitation of the calcium contained. Therefore, the intraocular irrigating solution of this invention is very stable and can be used with advantage in various kinds of ophthalmic surgery such as cataract surgery and transplantation of the cornea, iris and vitreous body.

Abstract: (A) A clad powdery or granular preparation of a medicinally active ingredient and (B) a powdery or granular ion exchanger such as a cation exchange resin are blended to prepare a solid preparation. The active ingredient includes .beta.-lactam antibiotics having a basic group. The clad powdery or granular preparation includes not only coated preparation wherein the active ingredient or preparation is coated but also a variety of preparations in which the contact of the active ingredient with the ion exchanger is suppressed or inhibited. Polymers such as a water-soluble polymer, an enteric polymer and so on can be used as the coating agent for the coated preparation. The using amount of the ion exchanger is about 10 to 5,000 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the active ingredient. Said solid preparation can remarkably decrease the unpleasant taste and odor of the active ingredient such as bitterness, being excellent in dissolution property and absorbability of the active ingredient.

Abstract: A method of lowering lipids is disclosed wherein a patient is administered a lipid metabolism improving composition characterized by comprising a compound of the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are the same or different and each represents a hydroxyl group, a lower alkoxy group or an amino group, or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient.Since the compound of the present invention lowers blood triglyceride, cholesterol and .beta.-lipoprotein levels, it is of value for ameliorating hyperlipidemia in arteriosclerotic diseases, e.g. myocardinal infarction, angina pectoris, cerebral infarction, cerebral arteriosclerosis, etc., nephrosis, hypertension, diabetes, obesity and other diseases, and prevention of various circulatory diseases.

Abstract: This invention relates to a glutathione-S-lower fatty acid derivative of the formula ##STR1## [wherein R.sub.1 is a lower alkyl group which may be substituted; R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom; R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group which may be substituted; R.sub.4 is a hydroxyl group, a lower alkoxy group which may be substituted; n means 1] or a salt thereof, and a method for production thereof.The glutathione-S-lower fatty acid derivative of the present invention or a salt thereof shows an excellent antihepatopathic activity and can be used with advantage as a drug for the treatment of various hepatic disorders.

Abstract: An antihepatopathic composition comprising a glutathione-S-lower fatty acid derivative of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 are the same or different and respectively mean a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group which may be substituted; R.sub.4 is a hydroxyl group, a lower alkoxy group which may be substituted or an amino group which may be substituted; n means 0 or 1 and when n=1, R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group which may be substituted or a phenyl group which may be substituted or a salt thereof as an active ingredient.

Abstract: The invention provides an anticataract composition containing a compound of the following formula ##STR1## [wherein Rs are the same or different and each means a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group] or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof.The anticataract composition of this invention is useful for the prevention and treatment of various types of cataract including senile cataract and diabetic cataract.
