Abstract: When an operator touches a touch panel momentarily for a very short time or when an operator scrolls a finger placed on the touch panel, input error is reduced. A map display system is comprised of a display device able to display a map on a screen, a touch panel circuit able to detect a touch operation on the screen in a predetermined detection cycle, a microcomputer changing the detection cycle of the touch panel so that after a touch operation to the screen is detected in a first cycle, a touch operation to the screen is detected in a second cycle longer than the first cycle, and a control circuit scrolling the map displayed on the display device in accordance with the detection result of the touch operation by the touch panel.
