  • Publication number: 20140168473
Abstract: An input image is divided into images composed of luminance signals of a plurality of bands that make up the Laplacian pyramid, noise suppression is applied to each divided image, and then the divided images are composited by addition. The input image is also divided into images composed of color signals of a plurality of bands that make up the Gaussian pyramid, noise suppression is applied to each divided image, and the divided images are composited at an image-based ratio. By thus compositing the luminance signals and color signals, excellent noise suppression can be realized while alleviating deterioration in the image quality during the compositing.

  • Publication number: 20140071314
Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, a reduced image in which an input image having a color pattern of a plurality of colors of different pixel densities is reduced is generated. A luminance signal is generated from the reduced image. A contour compensation signal is generated from weighted color signals of the reduced image. The luminance signal and the contour compensation signal are combined. If a reduction ratio of the reduced image is greater than a threshold, a weighting used for a color signal for which a pixel density is high in the input image is increased in comparison to a case where the reduction ratio is not greater to the threshold.

  • Publication number: 20140022419
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing apparatus that increases an effect of noise suppression processing and allows a visually excellent image to be obtained. This image processing apparatus divides an input image into bands to generate a high frequency image that does not include a direct current component. The image processing apparatus further generates reduced images each including the direct current component and having a different resolution from an image including the direct current component, and performs noise suppression processing on the high frequency image and the reduced images. The image processing apparatus then repeats enlargement and combining of the reduced images and adds a composite image and the high frequency image to finally obtain an output image.
