At step 1220, a desired process is described in the script editor in terms of a predetermined language. If the description has no error, it is stored (step 1230). When an item "execute" is selected from the main control menu 120, a video image is reproduced, a frame for which a process has been defined is displayed, and at the same time the defined process is executed.

In deciding the control plan, a swing mode analyzing means firstly analyzes the swing mode at each place of the system on the basis of waveforms of time domain response simulations. Then, a control allotment setting means determines control allotment for each of the system stabilizing components based on the mode analysis and a control parameter setting means control sets the control parameters of each of the system stabilizing components. If plural control plans are obtained, the optimal one is selected based on eigenvalues of dynamics of the system or by evaluating time domain system responses by simulation method.

When drawing information displayed on the audience-site screen is to be displayed also on the presenter-site screen, the drawing information is displayed after abridged. When presentation is made by using a plurality of screens and when presentation information is to be displayed on any one of the screens, the presentation information is automatically assigned to any one of the screens by assignment deciding functions. As a result, the progress of presentation by the presenter can be smoothened.

The control device is able to select part of its stored letter data for transmission so that only commonly used letter data need be transmitted during start up of the system. Since a large amount of letter data may be stored in the control device, and only part may be transmitted to the letter output devices, those output devices can have a relatively small memory.

A receiving equipment includes a reception module which receives a program channel having a plurality of sorts of video information multiplexed therein, selected by a viewer, and also the control information concerning the selected program channel. A reception controller commands a signal separator to produce the outputs of the video information interleaved in those positions of the program channel which are designated by the control information. Besides, the reception controller sends a decoder a decoding program contained in the control information.

A control output to e.g. a display is then generated by the processing device. One of the operations stored in the rule base memory is that which determines the association of names and data. By configuring the user interface in this way, a more flexible arrangement can be achieved.

    Abstract: An improved system and method for controlling the interstand tension in a tandem rolling mill by computing the interstand tension on the basis of detected process data, computing the difference or error between the computed interstand tension and the desired value, and controlling the speed of the rolling stand drive motors so as to cancel the error. A shear is generally disposed upstream of the tandem rolling mill to shear the leading and trailing ends of a workpiece. When the shear is cutting the trailing end of the workpiece, a backward tension is produced between the shear and the first rolling stand of the tandem rolling mill, resulting in abrupt variations of the process data used for the computation of the interstand tension. The system operation will become unstable when such abruptly varying process data are used to compute the interstand tension for the purpose of the motor speed control.

The characteristic feature of the invention resides in that the instructions for changing the operating condition of the heating furnace in response to a change in the rolling condition of the rolling line connected to the heating furnace is treated as a change in the period of stay of the material in the heating furnace. In the controlling system in accordance with the invention, determination of the material temperature rise pattern in response to the change in the staying period of the material in the furnace is made to minimize the supply of fuel to the heating means, and the set temperature of each heating zone is calculated from the thus determined temperature rise pattern.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system for controlling strip thickness in rolling mill, especially adapted in the case where material is rolled by a tandem rolling mill. According to the present invention, the change in the strip thickness from one sampling epoch to another is calculated on the basis of two sampling values, i.e. strip thickness and strip thickness deviation, at the entrance side of a mill stand; the press-down speed and the workpiece tension are determined according to such a condition as to minimize the calculated change during the sampling period; and the press-down speed and the interstand tension are regulated by the thus determined mill speed and tension when a certain portion of the strip reaches the stand bite of the next mill stand.
