  • Publication number: 20240159205
Abstract: A hydrogen engine in which hydrogen gas is supplied into a combustion chamber as fuel, comprises: an injector for injecting hydrogen gas; a pressure accumulation chamber communicating with an injection hole of the injector; a communication hole communicating with the pressure accumulation chamber and the combustion chamber; and a pressure accumulation chamber defining portion provided between the injector and the combustion chamber and defining the pressure accumulation chamber and the communication hole. The pressure accumulation chamber defining portion is formed separately from the injector and has a thermal conductivity equal to or higher than a thermal conductivity of a combustion chamber wall defining the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 4874679
Abstract: A battery casing for containing an electrolytic is equipped with a window (6) through which the interior of the casing (1) can be seen. An indicating device (9) for providing indications which differ according to changes in the electrolyte conditions' is installed inside the casing for viewing through the window so that such electrolyte conditions as the amount and specific gravity of the electrolyte (44) can be indicated. The indicating device has a frame member (10) separate from the casing and a float (11) supported by the frame member whereby the float can move vertically in response to a change in the electrolyte conditions. The indicating device is installed with the frame member extending along the inner surface of the window-equipped lateral wall of the casing in such a manner the the float can be seen from the outside through the window. A joining mechanism (20-23, and 36, 37: 153 and 154) is used for installing the frame member from the above in the casing.

  • Patent number: 4770957
Abstract: A handle (5, 5a) is turnably attached to a lid (1) which closes an opening in a battery casing (20). The handle is made of resin and is connected to the upper surface of the lid through a hinge (9, 9a) consisting of a thin-walled bendable portion. The upper surface of the lid is formed with a recess (11, 11a) for receiving the handle as the latter is lowered to extend along the upper surface of the lid when the handle is not used.

  • Patent number: 4272592
Abstract: A storage battery is made of thermoplastic synthetic resin by a molding process whereby the electrode reading-out members are placed in advance in a die for molding the electrolyte container body of the storage battery, so that the storage battery has such electrode leading-out members disposed across the lateral wall of the electrolyte container body. A spacing is defined between the surface of each electrode leading-out member facing the inside of the electrolyte container body and the portion of the electrolyte container body around the above-mentioned surface, whereby the region between the inward surface of the electrode leading-out member and the portion of the electrolyte container body therearound are heat-insulated from each other.

  • Patent number: 4075401
Abstract: A gas-discharging passage for a storage battery is adapted to discharge the gas which is produced inside the storage battery through a cylindrical body. The gas discharging passage is provided directly in the cover of the storage battery, or in the plug for electrolyte hole of the storage battery. A plurality of tongue-like pieces which are molded integrally with the cylindrical body are projected inwardly and inclined downwardly on the inner peripheral wall of the cylindrical body, whose axis is directed vertically. Thus, the passage shape formed inside the cylindrical body is adapted to advantageously prevent electrolyte from remaining inside the cylindrical body and from leaking through the cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 4074025
Abstract: An indicating device for a storage battery comprising: a bar-like body which is transparent, inserted through and held on the upper wall of the electrolytic vessel of a storage battery, has a pointed lower end and is immersed in the electrolyte in the storage battery; and an indicating member which is disposed in the electrolyte near the lower end of the bar-like body, rotatable around a horizontal axis, has its specific gravity correlated with that of the electrolyte and has its center of buoyancy deviated from the rotative axis thereof so that the indicating member is rotated as it sinks and floats according as the specific gravity of the electrolyte varies, the arrangement being such that when the indicating member is seen through the transparent bar-like body from above the storage battery, the indicating member, for example, selectively moves into and out of a visible range so that the manner of indication is changed according to the specific gravity of the electrolyte.
