  • Publication number: 20240056256
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein provide for prohibiting use by a User Equipment (UE) (12) of configured Tracking Reference Signals (TRSs) (30). For example, under certain conditions or circumstances, the UE (12) is prohibited from using any configured TRS (30) for time or frequency tracking, for reception by the UE (12) of a physical downlink channel (32). For example, when TRS usage is prohibited for time or frequency tracking for reception of a physical downlink channel (32), the UE (12) uses Demodulation Reference Symbols (DMRS) transmitted for the physical downlink channel (32), for such time or frequency tracking.

  • Publication number: 20240056147
Abstract: A method by a wireless device for computing channel state information (CSI) includes obtaining an overlapping N-port CSI-RS resource definition that overlaps with an M-port CSI-RS resource definition. A number N of ports associated with the overlapping N-port CSI-RS resource definition is less than a number M of ports associated with the M-port CSI-RS resource definition. The wireless device calculates N-port CSI based on the overlapping N-port CSI-RS definition and reports the N-port CSI to a network node.

  • Patent number: 11876581
Abstract: Systems and methods for Channel State Information (CSI) feedback on small control channels are provided. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a second node connected to a first node in a wireless communication network includes reporting CSI feedback to the first node on a physical channel. In some embodiments, this is accomplished by identifying a subset of codebook entries from an advanced CSI codebook of coefficients; selecting a codebook entry from the subset of codebook entries; and reporting an index of the selected codebook entry from the subset of codebook entries. This may allow robust feedback and allow variably sized cophasing and beam index indicators to be carried on the channel. Also, this may allow periodic feedback of advanced CSI on existing Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) Format 2.

  • Publication number: 20240015732
Abstract: Systems and methods for aperiodic Channel State Information (CSI) over multi-Transmission/Reception Point (TRP) Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for providing feedback includes: repeating PUSCH over multiple M>1 PUSCH occasions with P spatial relations and/or Uplink Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) states; and multiplexing Aperiodic CSI (A-CSI) with PUSCH on N>=1 PUSCH transmission occasions wherein N includes at least one PUSCH transmission occasion associated with each of the P spatial relations or UL TCI states. This may enable improved A-CSI reliability in multi-TRP scenarios. By repeating A-CSI (multiplexed with PUSCH or not multiplexed with PUSCH) over multiple TRPs, the reliability of A-CSI can be improved since the A-CSI can be received by at least one TRP. This method is particularly beneficial in FR2 cases where the channel between a TRP and a UE can experience channel blocking.

  • Patent number: 11863251
Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-beam Channel State Information (CSI) reporting are provided. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a second node connected to a first node in a wireless communication network for reporting multi-beam CSI includes reporting a rank indicator and a beam count indicator in a first transmission to the first node. The method also includes reporting a cophasing indicator in a second transmission to the first node. The cophasing indicator identifies a selected entry of a codebook of cophasing coefficients where the number of bits in the cophasing indicator is identified by at least one of the beam count indicator and the rank indicator. In this way, feedback for both a rank indicator and a beam count indicator may be possible which may allow robust feedback and variably sized cophasing and beam index indicators.
