  • Patent number: 6986988
Abstract: A method for enrichment of natural antisense mRNA which involves hybridization of cDNA obtained from sense RNA with cDNA obtained from antisense RNA, followed by DNA polymerase treatment of the sense-antisense hybrid DNA molecule. A natural antisense library can be generated by cloning of sense-antisense hybrid DNA molecules in a vector.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20030162195
Abstract: There is provided a method of testing a subject to determine if the subject has a predisposition for developing a cancer, a cancer of epithelial origin such as lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, bladder cancer, and cancer of the pancreas, and also a lymphoproliferative malignancy such as Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This method includes the steps of detecting a mutation in the open reading frame of the ATM gene (SEQ.ID.NO:1) in a cDNA sample or a genomic DNA sample from the subject, which mutation is selected from the group consisting of the mutations set forth in Table 3 and Table 4; or, detecting a mutation in the mRNA corresponding to the open reading frame of the ATM gene (SEQ.ID.NO:1) in a mRNA sample from the subject, which mutation is selected from the group consisting of RNA complementary to the mutations set forth in Table 3 and Table 4, wherein the presence of such a mutation indicates that the subject has a predisposition for developing cancer.

  • Patent number: 6468749
Abstract: This invention provides a method of sorting genes comprising: (1) preparing ds cDNA molecules from mRNA molecules (2) digesting the ds cDNA molecules (3) ligating to the digested cDNA molecules a set of dsDNA oligonucleotide adaptors; (4) amplifying the ligated cDNA molecules; and (5) sorting the amplified cDNA molecules into nonoverlapping groups. This invention also provides two additional methods of sorting genes. This invention further provides a method of making sub-libraries of ligation sets.

  • Publication number: 20020098488
Abstract: According to the present invention, there is provided a method of testing a subject to determine if the subject has a predisposition for developing primary or bilateral breast cancer which includes the steps of detecting a mutation in the open reading frame of the ATM gene (SEQ.ID.NO: 1) in a cDNA sample from the subject, in a genomic DNA sample from the subject, which mutation is selected from the group consisting of the mutations set forth in Table 4 and Table 5; or detecting a mutation in the mRNA corresponding to the open reading frame of the ATM gene (SEQ.ID.NO: 1) in a mRNA sample from the subject, which mutation is selected from the group consisting essentially of RNA complementary to the mutations set forth in Table 4 and Table 5, wherein the presence of such a mutation indicates that the subject has a predisposition for developing primary or bilateral breast cancer. Also provided is an isolated cDNA having a nucleotide sequence which differs from the sequence set forth in SEQ.ID.
