  • Patent number: 11926779
Abstract: A liquid crystal polyester comprising a repeating unit (A1) represented by the formula (A1) and a repeating unit (A2) represented by the formula (A2). A molar ratio (phenolic hydroxyl groups derived from the repeating unit (A2)/phenolic hydroxyl groups derived from the repeating unit (A1)) is 1 or lower, as calculated by 1H-NMR. A ratio [repeating unit (A2)/repeating unit (A1)] is 1.2 or larger. The number of the repeating unit (A1) is 20% or more and the number of the repeating unit (A2) is 58% or more based on 100% of a total number of all repeating units of the liquid crystal polyester. A flow starting temperature of the liquid crystal polyester is 250° C. or more. —O—Ar11—CO—??(A1) —O—Ar12—CO—??(A2) Ar11 represents a phenylene group and Ar12 represents a naphthylene group. A hydrogen atom is optionally substituted.

  • Patent number: 5700416
Abstract: A method for press molding a thermoplastic resin which includes the steps of supplying a resin melt in a cavity of an unclosed mold through at least one passage formed in a wall of the mold upper and lower halves of which are respectively attached to upper and lower platens of a vertically movable press so that the supplied resin melt contacts with surfaces of the upper and lower halves of the mold, pressing the resin melt in the mold by closing the mold so that the mold closing is still being carried out after the supply of the resin melt is finished or the mold closing is started at the same time as the supply of the resin melt is finished, and then cooling the molded resin in the mold.

  • Patent number: 5672309
Abstract: A molded article of a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin which suffers less deformation and has good appearance is produced by a method which includes the steps of:supplying at least two porous fibrous sheets, supplying a resin melt of a thermoplastic resin in a space between the porous fibrous sheets, andforcing the resin melt to fill the pores of the porous sheets by resin supplying pressure and/or pressing pressure and to reach outer surfaces of the porous fibrous sheet.

  • Patent number: 5238640
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a laminated body consisting of a synthetic resin member provided with a layer member thereon, in which the member is bent to cover the edges of the resin member. The method includes the compression, resulting from a male mold and a female mold approaching each other, of the layer member and molten resin. The female mold has flanges mounted on its edges to permit the layer member to cover the edges of the resin during compression. Molten resin materials are supplied between the male and female molds prior to subsequent to the compression.

  • Patent number: 5223201
Abstract: A process for the formation of a laminated body consisting of an upper layer member which covers a hardened synthetic resin is disclosed. The process includes the compression, resulting from a female mold and a male mold approaching each other, of the layer member and molten resins. The final engagement of the molds permits the cutting of the layer member so as to form or shape the ultimate laminated body.

  • Patent number: 5034076
Abstract: A multi-layer molded article including a thermoplastic resin body having a plurality of ribs and/or bosses on one side and a layer of a foam which is laminated on the side of the thermoplastic resin body having ribs and/or bosses is produced by a press molding method. The method involves the steps of supplying a foam between upper and lower halves of a mold, one of which has plurality of slits and/or holes corresponding to the ribs and/or bosses to be formed, supplying a quantity of a plasticized thermoplastic resin melt between the already supplied foam and the half of the mold not having any slit or hole, moving at least one half of the mold during supplying the thermoplastic resin or just after completion of supply of the thermoplastic resin to press mold the thermoplastic resin so that the plasticized thermoplastic resin breaks at least a part of areas of the foam on the slits and/or holes of the half of the mold to flow into the slits and/or holes and to form the ribs and/or bosses.
