  • Patent number: 8007138
Abstract: A lighting device can be configured to prevent light beams emitted from a light source from passing through an outer peripheral surface of a lens and from being projected outside of the illumination direction of the lighting device. In the lighting device, the light source can be disposed within a lighting chamber defined by a substrate and the lens. The lens can have a lens cut portion on the rear surface thereof. A reflection surface can be formed in the outer peripheral surface of the lens. The substrate can also have a reflecting portion configured to project light beams reflected by the outer peripheral surface of the lens in the illumination direction. The reflecting portion can be disposed on the front side of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7857497
Abstract: An LED lighting fixture is provided which achieves effective use of light, uniformly illuminates a large area and, has a high degree of freedom in designing light distribution characteristics. Three types of LED optical modules are used each having different light distribution characteristics. Each LED optical module includes an LED light source and a light distribution controlling lens of a different shape which constitute an optical system. Three types of LED optical units having different light distribution characteristics can be used. Each LED optical unit includes a set of LED optical modules having the same light distribution characteristics. The LED lighting fixture is configured to have a combination of the LED optical units having different light distribution characteristics.

  • Patent number: 7625102
Abstract: A lighting device can have a simple configuration which can be formed compactly in the direction of its optical axis in particular, and with a light weight. The lighting device can also have a functional, three-dimensional innovative appearance for the sake of enhanced merchantability and novelty. The lighting device can include a light source and a projection lens which is situated so that its source-side focus lies near the light source and its optical axis generally coincides with that of the light source. The projection lens can be a distribution control lens of convex form, having an exit surface shaped aspherically so that the direction of emission is continuously refracted into specified directions with respect to the angle of incidence from the focal position.
