  • Patent number: 6543178
Abstract: In an intra-line fishing rod, a rod tube comprises a synthetic resin as a matrix, and is reinforced by reinforced fibers. A guide is formed integrally with and projects from an inner surface of the rod tube. A cushioning portion is formed between the guide and a body layer of the rod tube which is composed predominantly of axially-extending fibers, and cushioning portions are formed respectively at front and rear sides of the guide connected to the inner surface of the rod tube. The cushioning portions are smaller in bending modulus than a bulge portion region of the guide for contact with a fishline, and the inner surface is formed with a mirror-like smoothness.

Date of Patent: April 8, 2003
    Assignee: Daiwa Seiko, Inc.
Inventors: Shunji Sunaga, Shoichi Koganei, Masaru Akiba, Tomoyoshi Tsurufuji, Yutaka Kurano, Toyoaki Takimoto, Toshihiro Kurokawa

  • Patent number: 6233862
Abstract: An interline fishing rod which not only prevents stress centralization but also includes a fishing line guide and is high in strength. A rod pipe (12) includes a joining portion (12T) in the leading end portion thereof, a forwardly narrowed taper portion (12S) located just in the rear of the joining portion (12T), and a straight or forwardly narrowed and gently tapered rod pipe main body portion (12H) located in the rear of the taper portion (12S). A fishing line guide (RG2) is provided on and protected from the inside wall of the rod pipe main body portion (12H), while the inside diameter (d2) of the fishing line guide (RG2) is set larger than the inside diameters (d0) and (d4). Reinforcing layers (H1, H2) for reinforcing a main body layer are provided in such a manner that it extends from the joining portion (12T) to at least the front-most position of the fishing line guide (RG2).
