  • Patent number: 11919932
Abstract: Disclosed are a novel therapeutic means effective and practical against cancer, and a novel substance useful as such a therapeutic means. Provided are novel peptides derived from a partial region of HMGN1, HMGN2, HMGN4 or HMGN5, and anti-cancer agents and anti-cancer effect enhancers containing the peptide as an active ingredient. The peptide of the present invention has an anti-tumor effect even independently, and exerts a remarkably excellent anti-tumor effect particularly when used in combination with an immune checkpoint regulator, or an anti-CD4 antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof.

  • Patent number: 7479262
Abstract: One object of the present invention is to provide a separation process that enables the efficient separation of selenium, tellurium, and platinum group elements from a material containing selenium/tellurium and platinum group elements. In order to achieve this object, the invention provides a separation process for platinum group elements comprising: a step (A) for treating a material containing selenium/tellurium and platinum group elements with alkali, a step (B) for leaching selenium/tellurium, and a step (C) for separating the platinum group element-containing leaching residue and the selenium/tellurium leachate.

  • Patent number: 5439616
Abstract: An infrared light-excited light-emitting substance given by the general formula:R1.sub.x R2(.sub.1-x)Ba.sub.z Cl.sub.3+2z where R1 is a rare-earth element, x satisfies the relation 0.01<x.ltoreq.1, R2 is another rare-earth element, and z satisfies the relation 1<z<4. Preferably, the substance is a transparent crystal having a transparency exceeding 70% in a wavelength range from 400 to 1500 nm, excluding wavelengths absorbed by rare-earth ions. The light-emitting substance can convert infrared light into visible light in a wavelength range from blue light to green light at a high conversion efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4349513
Abstract: A process for recovering uranium and/or thorium from a liquid containing uranium and/or thorium is disclosed, which comprises capturing the uranium and/or thorium in the liquid by an amorphous silica precipitate formed by adding water glass to the liquid, making the captured uranium and/or thorium eluted from the precipitate by acid-treatment, recovering the eluted uranium and/or thorium as an acidic solution, and regenerating the precipitate to water glass by use of an alkali metal hydroxide solution. Thus, the uranium and/or thorium can be recovered in high yield and the amorphous silica precipitate, that is, a formed radioactive solid waste can be remarkably reduced.
