  • Publication number: 20060140008
Abstract: In a data input/output with other apparatus, a data transfer controller (DTC) of a storage controller multiprocesses a data transfer with the other apparatus by utilizing a saving/recovering operation and suppresses a load therefrom, thereby improving performance thereof. A first storage apparatus includes two DMA units in a data transfer LSI of the DTC, uses them to process one or more data transfer concurrently, uses the saving or recovering operation to a memory #3 also in one DMA unit to process the data transfer while the data transfers are switched, thereby multiprocessing a plurality of data transfers. Based on an instruction from the IOC, the DTC makes one of the DMA units recover the necessary data transfer information and data from the memory #3 and transfer the data to the memory, and concurrently the other of the DMA units, which is not processed presently, save in advance, to the memory #3, the data transfer information and the data stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 6195867
Abstract: A method of producing a spiral wound gasket for sealing fluid such as a liquid including water and oil, and a gaseous body including vapor and gas and a device for producing the spiral wound gasket. The tip portion of a hoop material is cut and raised thereby forming a checking stepped-portion. The checking stepped-portion is caught by a checking pawl, so as to wind the hoop material around a core drum. After winding the hoop material around the outer periphery of the core drum, at least once, the checking pawl is retracted from the outer periphery of the core drum, thereby separating the checking pawl from the checking stepped-portion. The spiral wound gasket produced by the present invention exhibits an excellent sealing property. Moreover, it also has an excellent durability.

  • Patent number: 6179931
Abstract: As a method by which failed products of hard-coated plastic lenses, especially hard-coated high-refractive-index plastic lenses can be regenerated to be in a re-usable condition, plastic lenses coated with a hard coat consisting essentially of an organopolysiloxane compound and an inorganic oxide, are contacted with an aqueous solution of a silicate and/or a phosphate. For example, an aqueous solution of 30% trisodium phosphate heated at 50° C. is sprayed over hard-coated plastic lenses for 5 minutes. The hard coat is removed from the lenses, while the surface of the coat-removed lenses is not roughed. The coat-removed lenses are re-usable.

  • Patent number: 5763889
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for generating an electron beam in an electron microscope comprising an electron gun, a second anode located under the gun, an aperture plate having an aperture for limiting the electron beam, and a scattered electron-blocking member for limiting passage of the beam. The aperture plate is mounted in the beam passage formed in the second anode. The scattered electron-blocking member is located under the aperture plate. Electrons scattered at the edges of the aperture are blocked by the scattered electron-blocking member from colliding against the accelerator tube.

  • Patent number: 4814716
Abstract: In a conventional electron beam-producing apparatus, a field emission gun is combined with an accelerating tube. An electrostatic lens focuses the electron beam diverging from the emitter. This conventional apparatus needs a large power supply for applying potentials to the electrodes of the lens and to the accelerating electrodes. Also, it is difficult to make stationary the position at which the crossover point of the electron beam is imaged. The present invention makes use of voltage-dividing resistors to produce fractions of the accelerating voltage. These fractions of the voltage are applied to the electrodes of the electrostatic lens and to various electrodes. This permits the use of a power supply that is smaller in size than conventional. The number of the used voltage-dividing resistors is increased or decreased, depending on the accelerating voltage. This makes it possible to fix the position of the crossover point imaged by the electrostatic lens.

  • Patent number: 4787491
Abstract: A power transmission system for a four-wheel drive vehicle has, for the front and rear wheels, a driving power transmitting system for transmitting the output of a transmission with a forward overrunning clutch and a reverse overrunning clutch. Either or both of the overrunning clutches are engaged with a sleeve of a selecting device. An outer race of each overrunning clutch has outer toothings on the periphery thereof and the sleeve has inner toothings. Each inner toothing of the selecting device has chamfers on both axial ends thereof, and each outer toothing has a chamfer on an end opposing the inner toothing. Opposed chamfers of the inner and outer toothings have an angle so that a component in a free rotational direction of the outer toothing is produced by the engagement of the chamfer of the inner toothing.

  • Patent number: 4703234
Abstract: With an accelerator for accelerating an electron beam by a voltage of about 400 KV having a stability of 10.sup.-6, it is difficult to use a flexible, insulated cable to feed the output from a power supply to an electron beam and an accelerating tube. Accordingly, the present invention employs a rodlike connector instead of such an insulated cable. A guide means is provided to permit the movement of a power supply column in the direction of the axis of the connector. This facilitates cleaning or otherwise maintaining the power supply column, the electron gun, and the accelerating tube.

  • Patent number: 4672904
Abstract: When a cassette is attached to or detached from a memory sewing machine, a switch provided on the sewing machine is actuated in association with the attaching or detaching so as to stop the operation of the circuit of the computer. During the actuation of said switch, an opening or closing is made between the connecting pin of the memory cassette and the circuit of the computer, and in the position where the attaching or detaching of the cassette is completed, the switch is returned to its initial position so as to position the circuit of the computer at the initial resetting condition so that a new stitching control is started.
