  • Patent number: 7580675
Abstract: A data communication apparatus includes an antenna, an analog front-end circuit, and a controller. The analog front-end circuit is connected between the antenna and the controller and includes first and second modulators, a driver, a demodulator, and an input switch. The first modulator modulates data to be transmitted to a read-write device as a response to a request from said read-write device and sends the modulated data to the antenna. The second modulation circuit modulates data to be transmitted to other ID tags. The driver amplifies an output from the second modulator to drive the antenna. The demodulator demodulates data sent from the other ID tags and ID-tag read-write devices. The input switch selectively inputs the data to the first or second modulator. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Publication number: 20060163351
Abstract: An ID tag reader/writer for writing and reading data in and from one or more ID tags is provided. The ID tag reader/writer includes (a) one or more antennas configured to perform radio communications with the ID tags, (b) one or more analog frontend units, each unit being provided for one of the antennas, configured to generate a carrier wave based on a clock signal and to perform signal modulation and demodulation, and (c) a controller configured to generate and output the clock signal to the analog frontend units and select one of the analog frontend units corresponding to a target ID tag to which data are to be transmitted, wherein the controller performs data transmission to and from the analog frontend units using digital signals.

  • Patent number: 5144672
Abstract: A speech recognition apparatus includes an input unit, a pattern generator, a speaker-independent dictionary for storing a first group of reference patterns, and a speaker-dependent dictionary for storing a second group of reference patterns. The apparatus also includes a dictionary information storing unit which stores dictionary information about the first group of reference patterns and the second group of reference patterns, and a weighting unit which calculates a weighting factor from the dictionary information and which weights the second group of reference patterns in the speaker-dependent dictionary by using the weighting factor to thereby output weighted reference patterns.
