  • Patent number: 4400639
Abstract: A rotor core of an electric rotary machine is provided with a number of slots opening toward the outer peripheral surface of the core and teeth formed between the slots. At the sides of the rotor core are mounted spidery end plates having notches opposing the slots and projections opposing the teeth. That end surface of the projection which is remote from the rotor core is formed to extend farther from the end surface of the rotor core as it becomes distant from the axis of the rotor core. The rotor winding is wound about the rotor core and spidery end plates to be buried in the slots and notches, the bottom of the notch being higher than the laminate slot, so that the slot liner is not distorted during winding operations.

  • Patent number: 4250424
Abstract: The rotor core of a synchronous motor or a synchronous generator with a permanent magnet is comprised of a multiplicity of laminated thin iron sheets each having as many segments as the poles. Slits are formed between each adjacent segment, and the magnetic reluctance of the slits is made larger than that between the rotor core and the stator core, thereby minimizing the leakage fluxes within the rotor core. Each segment is required to be prevented from being broken away by centrifugal force generated while the machine is in operation. According to the invention, adjacent segments are connected by a non-magnetic material through the slits. The non-magnetic material is fitted in the recesses formed at both sides of the slit in such a manner as to connect them with each other, each of the recesses being positioned substantially parallel to the circumference of the rotor and having a wider bottom than the opening thereof.

  • Patent number: 4144469
Abstract: A rotor of a permanent magnet type synchronous motor comprises a rotary shaft, a rotary supported by the rotary shaft and including an alternate disposition of a core section in the form of a lamination of a magnetic material which is stacked in the axial direction and a reinforcement section of a non-magnetic material and cavities axially formed in the core and reinforcement sections by passing therethrough, permanent magnets received in the cavities, and a strap interposed at least between the radial outer surface of respective permanent magnets and the opposing inner wall of the cavity, whereby distribution of pressures resulting from a centrifugal force due to the rotation of the rotor, which pressures are imparted on the inner wall of the cavity by the outer surface of the permanent magnet, is uniformed or shared by the strap, thereby preventing the permanent magnet from being fractured.

  • Patent number: 4048359
Abstract: A method of manufacturing polychromatic artificial yarns incorporating liquid crystals is provided.According to this method, a transparent film sheet of plastic or other suitable material having a row of a plurality of longitudinally extending grooves on its outer surface is prepared and then coatings of micro-encapsulated liquid crystals, and particles of an ultra-violet light adsorbent are applied onto the grooves. After these processes, the entire outer surface of the film sheet is coated with a thin layer of carbon black and is then covered adhesively with another transparent film sheet of the same material. The entire material is finally cut out, across the second and first mentioned film sheets, longitudinally along the grooves to produce linear strips to be spun into yarns.
