  • Publication number: 20110112749
Abstract: A fuel-saving driving diagnosis apparatus detects that a vehicle stopped, counts the number of stops, and determines whether the vehicle raced after detection that the vehicle stopped. After that, in the case where it is determined that the stopped vehicle raced, the fuel-saving driving diagnosis apparatus calculates the number of times of stop followed by racing done by the vehicle. The fuel-saving driving diagnosis apparatus diagnoses fuel-saving driving of a driver based on the counted number of stops and the counted number of times of stop followed by racing.

  • Publication number: 20110093152
Abstract: A fuel-saving driving diagnostic device stores an external power amount which indicates an amount of power charged by an external device and an internal power amount which indicates an amount of power charged by vehicle driving. The fuel-saving driving diagnostic device calculates a driving power amount which indicates an amount of power required for vehicle driving based on the stored external power amount, stored internal power amount, and an amount of power a vehicle currently has, and makes a diagnosis of fuel-saving driving based on the calculated driving power amount and the stored external power amount. As a result, sufficient information is calculated for prompting the driver of a plug-in hybrid car to do the fuel-saving driving.

  • Publication number: 20100185359
Abstract: A driving diagnosis apparatus temporarily records a diagnosis result of the user before changed when a user is switched, and starts to diagnose the user after changed. Accordingly, since driving status of each user is independently diagnosed, the diagnosis result is proper. Further, when a driving distance of the vehicle is smaller than a threshold, the diagnosis result of a driving interval is not recorded so that the driving interval is removed from an object of giving a point. Influence to environment is also considered in evaluation of the driving status. Accordingly, in the driving diagnosis apparatus and a driving diagnosis system for diagnosing driving status and for evaluating a driver based on the diagnosis result, the diagnosis and the evaluation are properly performed.

  • Publication number: 20100030420
Abstract: An advice provision apparatus calculates the driving condition of the vehicle for every predetermined travel section, for the purpose of comparison with the driving condition in the previous travel section. The driving condition of the current section is evaluated in a relative manner based on the comparison of at least two travel sections, even when the absolute assessment of the driving condition is difficult. Thus, the advice provision apparatus can accurately and precisely diagnose the driving condition of the driver.

  • Publication number: 20100030419
Abstract: When it is determined that a head light is turned on, the sunset time is calculated. Thus, the frequency of calculating the sunset time is significantly decreased as compared with that of continuously calculating the sunset time, thereby reducing the processing load. Further, as compared with the case where the sunset time is calculated regardless of the time of lighting on, the calculated sunset time can evaluate the time of lighting on appropriately.

  • Publication number: 20100026476
Abstract: A driving advice provision apparatus generates an advice, based on diagnosis performed on multiple diagnosis items regarding the driving condition of the vehicle and based on the diagnosis results from those diagnosis items, and provides the generated advice to the driver. The multiple diagnosis items are classified into different categories according to the diagnosis methods. For the diagnosis items suitable to the comparative evaluation rather than the quantitative evaluation, a diagnosis result A for the previous evaluation section is compared with a diagnosis result B for the current evaluation section for yielding a comparative evaluation and for advice generation, thereby enabling an effective advice generation and provision in terms of diagnosis item category.

  • Publication number: 20090204600
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described for assisting a requester to identify and reserve a resource that meets the need of the requestor's request. For example, a request can be augmented using augmentation data, such as current position and requester preferences, and resources are located and ranked according to their match against the augmented request. A person who is the requester may engage in another attention demanding task, such as driving a car, while resources well matched to preferences are located. Preference data may be determined from social network data, a preference file, and/or other sources.

  • Patent number: 7554962
Abstract: A method, mobile station, and software product are used to select an access point in a wireless local area network (WLAN) for access by the mobile station. This is accomplished by calculating a preference value for each of a plurality of the access points, based upon information regarding current communication characteristics of the access points. That information includes physical signal characteristics of the access points, and current channel loads of the access points, and also the traffic type affecting the current channel loads of the respective access points. The information about channel loads is weighted differently based upon the corresponding traffic types, and may also be calculated differently depending upon whether or not the mobile station is set up to utilize multimedia traffic.

  • Publication number: 20070230418
Abstract: A new and unique method or apparatus for implementing an unscheduled automatic power save delivery (U-APSD) in a wireless local area network (WLAN) terminal, comprising maintaining a timer for defining a triggering interval between sending of subsequent trigger frames to a WLAN access point, wherein the value of the timer is set to dynamically change according to one or more criteria relating to the current communication situation. The criteria depend on whether there are buffered frames. at another node, point, terminal or device, such as an Access Point (AP)), in the wireless local area network (WLAN), or other suitable network. For example, when there are buffered frames at the AP, the WLAN terminal sets the triggering interval to a minimum value and sends null-data frames to quickly retrieve them, or when there is no buffered frame at the AP, the STA sets the triggering interval to a larger value to continue the doze mode for a long time and to save energy.

  • Patent number: 7238235
Abstract: A system and method for applying a material for improving the adhesion between the surface of thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) elements and a coating applied thereto is disclosed. The system comprises the mixing of an adhesion promoter with de-ionized water and applying it to the surface of the TPO elements to be coated. Preferably, the application occurs in an atmospherically controlled enclosure. The application of the adhesion promoter is preferably accomplished by flowing the mixture over the TPO elements through an application device that minimizes agitation and splashing of the mixture. Multiple parameters of the application system may be monitored and regulated. Upon completion of the application process, the treated TPO elements are preferably dried in an oven, leaving a thin layer of adhesion promoter over the surface thereof. Use of the application device ensures that minimal defects are present in the dried adhesion promoter layer.

  • Publication number: 20060215686
Abstract: A method to adaptively control CW sizes in order to enhance throughput of real-time traffic even when an AP accept large number of real-time traffic is disclosed. Since default CW sizes for real-time flows are set to small values in order to achieve the service differentiation, real-time flows cannot meet their requirements when collisions between real-time flows often occur. When increasing the size of CW in an AC, the one in other ACs are also increased if the service differentiation among ACs has to be maintained. And in case of decreasing the size of CW in an AC, the one in other ACs are also decreased if the service differentiation has to be maintained.
