  • Patent number: 6646022
Abstract: A photocuring resin composition comprising a thermoplastic resin (a-1) having a radical polymerizing unsaturated group at its side chain and a photopolymerization initiator (a-2) and substantially not including a crosslinking compound other than (a-1), a photocuring sheet comprising a photocuring resin composition (A) laminated on a substrate sheet (B) and a process of production of the same, a photocuring decorative sheet and photocuring insert molding sheet using the same, and a process of production of a molded article using such a photocuring sheet and an insert molded article obtained by the same.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 3, 2001

    Assignee: Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Shougo Okazaki, Yoko Kakuno, Kenji Suemura, Hiroyuki Watanabe
  • Patent number: 6511750
Abstract: An artificial marble having appearance remarkably resembling that of a natural stone in which particles (X) containing a vinyl polymer (A) and mica flake (B) and/or a glass flake (C) are dispersed in a matrix (Y) containing a vinyl polymer (E); a mica flake- and/or glass flake-containing cured resin article which is useful as this particle (X); and a mica flake- and/or glass flake-containing polymerizable composition useful for production of the cured resin article.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6028127
Abstract: An artificial marble is herein disclosed which comprises a polymer (A) of a radical polymerizable vinyl compound, an inorganic filler (B) having an average particle diameter of 1 .mu.m or more, and a colloidal metal oxide (C) having an average particle diameter of 1 to 100 nm, the metal oxide (C) being uniformly dispersed in the state of substantially primary particles in the polymer (A). The colloidal metal oxide (C) can be uniformly dispersed, whereby a high flame retardancy can be imparted to the artificial marble, and the inorganic components can be filled in a higher ratio without impairing aesthetic properties peculiar to the artificial marble.
