  • Patent number: 7028587
Abstract: A ratchet tool comprising a handle, a cartridge attached to the handle, a barrel rotatably received in the cartridge and having a gear and having a non-circular engaging hole, and one or more driving stems each having a non-circular end segment selectively engaged with the engaging hole of the barrel, for allowing the driving stems to be selectively rotated by the barrel. Two pawls are slidably received in the cartridge and each has one or more teeth biased to selectively engage with the gear of the barrel, and a control ferrule includes an actuator for selectively disengaging the teeth of the pawls from the gear of the barrel, to control the driving direction of the barrel and the driving stem.

  • Patent number: 6250183
Abstract: A ratchet tool includes a cartridge having one end engaged in a handle and having an orifice for rotatably receiving a gear of a sleeve. One or more tool members may be engaged in the sleeve for driving various kinds of fasteners. A ratchet device is engaged in the cartridge for controlling the driving direction of the sleeve relative to the cartridge. A pair of pawls are slidably received in a pair of channels of the cartridge and are biased to engage with the gear. The gear may be selectively disengaged from the gear to control the driving direction of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 6227077
Abstract: A ratchet tool includes a cartridge secured to a handle and having an orifice for rotatably receiving a gear of a driving stem. The cartridge includes two apertures for slidably receiving two pins. The pins each includes one or more teeth formed in one or both ends and selectively biased to engage with the gear of the driving stem and to control the driving direction of the driving stem. A control ferrule is rotatably engaged on the cartridge and includes an actuator to selectively disengage the teeth of the pins from the gear of the driving stem.

  • Patent number: 6148696
Abstract: A ratchet screw driver includes a barrel having a stud en gaged into a handle and having a pair of opposite passages for slidably receiving a pair of pawls. A gear is rotatably received in the barrel and has an aperture for receiving various kinds of driving stems. A spring is engaged on the barrel and has two end beads engaged with the pawls for biasing the pawls to engage with the gear. The barrel includes a curved slot for receiving an actuator which is engaged into the curved slot of the barrel and located between the pawls for moving the pawls against the spring.

  • Patent number: 5996452
Abstract: A chuck device for a power tool includes a follower rotatably and slidably received in a tube and coupled to and driven by a power tool and having a hole for receiving a driving stem. One or more balls are slidably received in the follower and may be forced inward of the follower to engage with the driving stem for allowing the driving stem to be driven by the follower. The balls may be disengaged from the driving stem when the ball is received in the annular recess of the tube for preventing the driving stem from being over-driven by the power tool.

  • Patent number: 5732606
Abstract: A tool includes tube having a rear portion secured in a handle and having a non-circular bore for slidably receiving an extension and for allowing the extension to be rotated in concert with the tube. The extension includes a retaining ring secured to the rear portion. The tube includes an annular slot for engaging with the retaining ring and for preventing the extension from disengaging from the tube. The extension includes a flexible middle coil for allowing the extension to be bent. A sleeve is rotatably engaged on the front portion of the extension for forming a hand grip.
