  • Publication number: 20100068909
Abstract: A dustproof receptacle connector includes a dielectric housing, a plurality of terminals, a shield and a dustproof cover. The dielectric housing defines a plurality of terminal grooves therein for receiving the terminals. The shield surrounding the dielectric housing has a top board. A sliding groove is defined in the top board and extends longitudinally to pass through a rear end of the top board. An engaging portion extends from the rear end of the top board. A receiving groove is surrounded by the engaging portion and the rear end of the top board and communicates with the sliding groove. The engaging portion is bent downward to be attached to a rear portion of the dielectric housing. The dustproof cover is slidably received in the shield and located between the dielectric housing and a front end of the shield. The dustproof cover has a positioning portion slidable along the sliding groove.

  • Patent number: 7661990
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing, a plurality of terminals and a shield. The dielectric housing defines a plurality of terminal grooves therein for receiving the terminals. At least one recess is formed in an outer surface of the dielectric housing. The shield has a plurality of sidewalls to define a receiving space therebetween for receiving the dielectric housing therein. At least one of the sidewalls is punched inward at a portion corresponding to the recess of the dielectric housing to form a retaining portion restricted in the recess after the dielectric housing is mounted in the receiving space. The retaining portion is restricted in the recess for fixing the dielectric housing inside the shield. The depth of the recess and the retaining portion restricted in the recess is not limited by the depth of the material of the shield. The dielectric housing is fixed in the shield firmly.

  • Patent number: 7654835
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing having a plurality of terminals received within and a shell encircling the housing therein. The shell has a mating opening at one end thereof. A dustproof cover is assembled in the shell and positioned between the mating opening and the housing to perform anti-dust function. The dustproof cover has an insulator and a metal sheet combined with the insulator to strengthen the structure of the dustproof cover. The dustproof cover is of enough intensity and is not prone to deformation in use and therefore offers fully anti-dust function for the electrical connector.

  • Publication number: 20100022128
Abstract: A receptacle and plug connector assembly includes a receptacle having a housing with a plurality of terminals received therein and a plug mated with the receptacle and having an insulator with a plurality of contacts disposed therein. Each terminal has a base portion and two elastic arms extending from the base portion. Free ends of the two elastic arms respectively protrude towards each other to form projections. Each contact has a substantially U-shaped contacting portion received between the elastic arms and pressed by the projections of the elastic arms. Therefore, the terminals of the receptacle contact the contacts of the plug stably.

  • Patent number: 7632156
Abstract: A connector assembly includes a receptacle connector having a first housing with a plurality of first terminals received therein, and a plug connector matched with the receptacle connector and having a second housing with a plurality of second terminals fixed therein. Each first terminal has a first base portion, a first contact portion, a first elastic arm, and a first propping portion formed at a free end of the first elastic arm. Each second terminal has a second base portion, a second contact portion, a second elastic arm, and a second propping portion formed at a free end of the second elastic arm. The first propping portion is against the second contact portion while the second propping portion is against the first contact portion. Therefore, the connection between the receptacle connector and the plug connector is double and more stably.
