  • Publication number: 20110073430
Abstract: A bicycle hub having pawl retaining function comprises a hub body including a ratchet face disposed on one end thereof to fit a ratchet barrel, the ratchet barrel including a positioning holder mounted on one end thereof relative to the ratchet face, the positioning holder including a number of receiving cavities to receive pawl members, and between the receiving cavities being arranged a number of engaging slots on raised rims thereof, each pawl member including a retaining groove fixed thereon relative to the engaging slot so that the pawl members are positioned in the receiving cavities by using a binding member and one end of each pawl member extends flexibly, characterized in that: the binding member is a closed spring member so that as the pawl members are bound and retained to the positioning holder, the pawl members swing independently from each other by ways of the binding member.

  • Publication number: 20080258538
Abstract: A pull-type hub for a bicycle includes hub body, two bearings mounted in the hub body, and two bearing seats mounted in the hub body and each located between the hub body and a respective bearing. Thus, when each of the two opposite sides of the hub body is subjected to an outwardly pulled radial stress applied by the spokes, each of the bearing seats is located between the hub body and the respective bearing to eliminate the radial stress applied on each of the two opposite sides of the hub body by the spokes, so that each of the bearings is mounted in the hub body closely and will not be loosened from the hub body easily.

  • Publication number: 20070289836
Abstract: A hub for a bicycle includes a hub body having ratchet teeth, a ratchet barrel having positioning grooves, a plurality of pawl members pivotally mounted in the positioning grooves of the ratchet barrel and engaged with the ratchet teeth of the hub body in one direction, and an elastic module enclosed around the pawl members elastically. The elastic module is formed by a plurality of loops connected with each other. Thus, the force applied by the pawl members on the elastic module are distributed by the loops of the elastic module in the axial and sideward directions, so that the elastic module has a greater strength and will not produce an elastic fatigue during a long-term utilization, thereby enhancing the lifetime of the elastic module.
