  • Patent number: 6012633
Abstract: An automatic transaction apparatus for allowing users to deposit money in the form of financial documents such as checks has a depository inlet, a document feed mechanism, a reading mechanism, a printing mechanism, and a storage mechanism, all for automatically settling financial documents deposited by users. The depository inlet has a guidance mechanism for indicating a pattern in which to insert the financial document into the depository inlet. According to the pattern indicated by the guidance mechanism, the user can insert the financial document with face and back sides properly directed and in a proper orientation into the depository inlet. Since the financial document is properly inserted into the depository inlet, the automatic transaction apparatus may have a relative simple document deposition mechanism for processing the inserted financial document as the document deposition mechanism does not need to handle financial documents inserted in different patterns.

  • Patent number: 5740744
Abstract: A through-wall type automatic customer service apparatus is arranged in a partition wall in a financial institution. The body of the apparatus has a facade which passes through an aperture in the wall and is exposed to the outside of the wall, for operation by users. The facade is pivotably attached to the body and is movable between an open position and a closed position. A locking screw can lock the facade in the closed position and can be operated from the outside of the body in the wall. The apparatus also includes support arms for supporting the facade in the open position.

  • Patent number: 4559452
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting an edge of a semitransparent plane substance provided with a light source array including a plurality of light sources and a photosensor array including a plurality of photosensors. A selection circuit selects a pair of one of the light sources and one of the photosensors, respectively, and a comparator circuit compares the outputs of each of the photosensors in each pair when no detected substance exists between the light source array and the photosensor array, and the corresponding outputs when a substance exists between the light source array and the photosensor array, so that the edge portion of the substance can be detected.
