Publication number: 20150005909Abstract: A communication device according to an embodiment includes a reception unit, a determination unit, a generation unit, and a transmission unit. The reception unit receives a telegram which is transmitted to a node. The determination unit determines whether or not the telegram which is received by the reception unit includes a command related to a communication path. When the determination unit determines that the telegram does not include the command related to the communication path, the generation unit generates a non-pass signal which indicates that the telegram does not pass through a public line. The transmission unit transmits the non-pass signal which is generated by the generation unit to the node.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 24, 2013Publication date: January 1, 2015Applicant: TOSHIBA LIGHTING & TECHNOLOGY CORPORATIONInventors: Nobuyuki Monma, Shuichi Kyuma, Kenichi Ide, Keiichi Teramoto, Yoshiki Terashima

Patent number: 8103784Abstract: In a communication device for carrying out communications according to an Echonet protocol on a network of a prescribed network layer protocol, a prescribed bit sequence value of a network layer address or a datalink layer address of the communication device is set as a candidate for an Echonet address to be used in the Echonet protocol. Then, an inquiry packet for inquiring whether the prescribed bit sequence value is identical to the Echonet address used by each other communication device or not is transmitted, and the prescribed bit sequence value is determined as the Echonet address of the communication device when the prescribed bit sequence value is judged as not identical to any of Echonet addresses used by the other communication devices.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2006Date of Patent: January 24, 2012Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Takeshi Saito, Keiichi Teramoto, Nobuyuki Monma, Hiroyuki Aizu, Shuichi Kyuma

Patent number: 8094655Abstract: The other communication devices are prohibited to transmit the address initialization request for a prescribed period of time since one communication device transmitted the address initialization request for an address managed by a control protocol, so that the conflict of the initialization requests for the same address will not occur and the problem of assigning the address in overlap to the communication devices will not arise. Also, the other communication devices are prohibited to transmit the address server detection request packet for a prescribed period of time since one communication device transmitted the address server detection request packet, so that the conflict on the network by a plurality of address server detection requests will not occur, and it is possible to determine the MAC address server uniquely.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2008Date of Patent: January 10, 2012Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Takeshi Saito, Keiichi Teramoto, Hiroyuki Aizu, Shuichi Kyuma, Yoshiki Terashima

Patent number: 7411952Abstract: A communication scheme assigns address and determines the setting of address servers. In this scheme other communication devices are prohibited to transmit an address initialization request for a prescribed period of time since one communication device transmitted the address initialization request for an address managed by a control protocol, so that conflict of the initialization requests for the same address will not occur and the problem of assigning the address in overlap to the communication devices will not arise.
