Abstract: A process for producing an antimicrobial fiber having a silver-containing inorganic microbicide characterized by using a treating solution for producing said fiber which contains a discoloration inhibitor represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group and R.sup.2 is hydrogen or an alkali metal.
