  • Patent number: 8982153
Abstract: When rendering a graphic according to the locus of an input position, it is determined whether a region which has been preset for the graphic to be rendered, and has the start position of the continuous input as a reference overlaps a region preset for an already rendered graphic by a predetermined amount or more. If it is determined that the regions do not overlap each other by the predetermined amount or more, a graphic is rendered according to the locus of the input position. Alternatively, if it is determined that the regions overlap each other by the predetermined amount or more, control is switched to remove the already rendered graphic according to the locus of the input position.

  • Patent number: 8866934
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus capable of deleting a video effect superimposed on a moving image, in timing desired by a user. A system controller of a video camera as the image pickup apparatus performs control such that a moving image taken by an image pickup section and a title superimposed on the moving image are recorded together in a storage medium. When a specific shooting condition has changed during taking of the moving image by the image pickup section, the system controller performs control to inhibit recording of the display item in the storage medium.

  • Patent number: 8830802
Abstract: According to an embodiment, there is provided an information recording apparatus, such as a digital camera, arranged to record information on a detachably mountable storage medium, such as for example to record video data on the storage medium. In one version of the apparatus, when a connection of an AC adapter is cancelled, the storage medium is detected by a storage medium detection unit, and in a case where the storage medium is not mounted to the mounting unit, a warning is issued, for example in an audio output unit or a display unit. Accordingly, the user can find out that the storage medium is not mounted before the digital camera has been brought outside for use. Thus, it may be possible to prevent a failure in which the user first realizes that they forgot to mount the storage medium only when they are already away from home.

  • Patent number: 8625968
Abstract: A recording apparatus is disclosed that records information data and file system information for managing a file containing the information data in accordance with a predetermined file system to a recording medium having a plurality of blocks including an alternative block for a detect block. The data recorded in the recording medium is managed in accordance with the predetermined file system. The recording apparatus sets a threshold based on the size of the file system information, and if the alternative block remaining amount in the recording medium is less than or equal to the threshold, recording of the information data to the recording medium is inhibited.
