  • Patent number: 7920287
Abstract: A layout apparatus lays out a document by referencing personal information registered on a per user basis. Even if no particular print setting is input for a print job by a user, excellent prints customized for each user are thus provided.

  • Patent number: 7796284
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing apparatus and an image processing method for reducing burden of managing documents on a user, the burden being caused when image data is retransmitted and when both a previously transmitted document and the retransmitted document are stored. To accomplish this, a user selects a transmitted document from a transmission history stored in an image processing apparatus and requests a processing status of the selected document to an image processing apparatus on a receiver side. The image processing apparatus on the receiver side determines the processing status, puts output restrictions on the selected document, and transmits the determination result. The image processing apparatus on the transmitter side receives the response and transmits replacing image data. The image processing apparatus on the receiver side replaces the previously received document with the replacing image data and cancels the output restrictions.

  • Publication number: 20080010612
Abstract: Based on plural kinds of image data produced by changing a layout of input first image data, at least first feature information and second feature information are extracted and stored in a correspondent relation. Third feature information extracted from third image data is compared with the stored first feature information and second feature information. When a result of the comparison shows that the third feature information is matched with one of the first feature information and the second feature information, it is determined that the third image data is identical to the first image data.

  • Publication number: 20070286530
Abstract: A data management apparatus stores first feature information extracted from first image data and output condition information corresponding to the first image data. The data management apparatus determines whether second feature information extracted from second image data matches the stored first feature information. In addition, the data management apparatus determines whether an output condition under which the first output unit outputs the second image data matches the output condition represented by the stored output condition information. The data management apparatus outputs information indicating that the second image data matches the first image data when it is determined that the second feature information matches the first feature information and it is determined that the output condition under which the second image data is output matches the output condition represented by the stored output condition information.

  • Publication number: 20070229909
Abstract: An apparatus stores first document information including a plurality of feature information, which are extracted from an image of a first document and respectively extracted based on a plurality of different orientations, and second document information including feature information extracted from an image of a second document from at least one orientation. The apparatus determines that the first document and the second document are the same if any one of the feature information included in the first document information matches the feature information included in the second document information, and determines that the first document and the second document are not the same if none of the plurality of feature information included in the first document information matches the feature information included in the second document information.

  • Publication number: 20070223050
Abstract: A document management apparatus includes a storage unit that stores first document information and second document information each including multiple pages in units of pages; a comparison unit that compares any page in the first document information stored in the storage unit with the multiple pages in the second document information stored in the storage unit; a determination unit that determines whether every page in the first document information agrees with any page in the second document information on the basis of the comparison result in the comparison unit; and an output unit that outputs information indicating the determination result in the determination unit.

  • Publication number: 20050193200
Abstract: An image processing apparatus extracts feature information from electronic data to be transmitted to an output device, and encrypts the electronic data before transmitting it to the output device. The image processing apparatus manages an output time and date at which the transmitted electronic data is to be printed, and transmits a decryption key for decrypting the transmitted encrypted electronic data to the output device at the output time and date. A hash value extracted from the electronic data decrypted by the output device is checked against a hash value extracted by the image processing apparatus. When these hash values are consistent with each other, the image processing apparatus instructs printing of the electronic data decrypted by the output device.

  • Patent number: 6219152
Abstract: During print processing based on print data from host computer 100, if memory shortage occurs in RAM 16, information on the occurrence of memory shortage, memory-use status and the like is sent to the host computer 100. The host computer 100 receives the information and allocates a storage area in the RAM 3 based on the information. Form information and the like, registered in the RAM 16 are transferred to the host computer and saved in the allocated storage area, thus expanding an available area of the RAM 16 for printing. When the print processing has been completed, the completion of printing is notified to the host computer 100, so that the saved information is transferred from the host computer 100, and stored into the RAM 16.
