    Abstract: An image formation method in which a photosensitive element is exposed in image-wise fashion, then, a first treating element comprising a treating layer comprising a base and/or base precursor is prepared, this first treating element is laminated on the photosensitive element so that the treating layer of the first treating element faces the photosensitive layer of the photosensitive element and the resultant laminate is heated for 5 to 60 seconds at a temperature of 60 to 100.degree. C. in the presence of water in an amount of 1 cc/m.sup.2 to 50 cc/m.sup.2 between the photosensitive layer of the photosensitive element and the treating layer of the first treating element. Then the photosensitive element is separated from the first treating member. Then a second treating element comprising a support carrying thereon a treating layer comprising at least an acidic polymer is prepared.
