  • Patent number: 5002847
Abstract: A toner for developing electrostatic images and a process for producing the same is disclosed. The process comprises after applying ultrasonic waves to raw materials-mixture comprising addition polymerizable monomer(s), coloring agent(s) and water as indispensable components in the course of charging the raw materials-mixture into a reaction vessel or to a raw materials-mixture in a reaction vessel, at an application amount of from 0.05 to 50 W/l/hr. per unit treating volume and time using an ultrasonic homogenizer having frequencies of from 10 kHz to 50 kHz, subjecting the raw materials-mixture to suspension polymerization.

  • Patent number: 4427482
Abstract: A method for producing a prepreg roving, which comprises impregnating a composition comprising an unsaturated polyester, an unsaturated monomer and a polyisocynate compound in a filamentary reinforcing material, and then heating the impregnated reinforcing material to react the unsaturated polyester with the polyisocyanate compound; and a method for producing a fiber-reinforced plastic article, which comprises disposing prepreg rovings (A), said prepreg rovings being prepared by the above method between at least two plies of sheet molding compound (B) obtained by impregnating a composition comprising an unsaturated polyester and an unsaturated monomer in glass fibers and forming the impregnated product into a sheet; and consolidating the resulting assembly under heat and pressure.

  • Patent number: 4327145
Abstract: A process for producing an easily handleable sheet molding compound which comprises impregnating glass fibers with a resin composition comprising (A) an unsaturated polyester having a hydroxyl value of 20 to 55 and an acid value of 5 to 20 with a hydroxyl value/acid value ratio of from 1.7 to 10, (B) a polymerizable monomer and (C) a polyisocyanate compound having not more than 20 carbon atoms excepting the carbon atoms of the isocyanate groups and selected from the group consisting of diisocyanates and polymethylenepolyphenyl isocyanates, the proportions of the unsaturated polyester (A) and the polyisocyanate compound (C) being such that the mole ratio of the hydroxyl groups of the unsaturated polyester (A) to the isocyanate groups of the polyisocyanate compound (C) is from 0.7 to 1.
