  • Publication number: 20110222691
Abstract: To protect rights of a copyright owner of digital content, technology is required to prevent digital content on a recording medium from being copied onto another recording medium and played back. A key distribution server securely receives a media unique key from a recording medium device, generates a first title key different for each content, encrypts the generated first title key with the media unique key, encrypts the content with the first title key, and transmits the encrypted first title key to the recording medium device and the encrypted content to the recording device. The recording device securely receives the encrypted content from the key distribution server and the first title key and a second title key from the recording medium device, decrypts the encrypted content with the first title key, encrypts the decrypted content with the second title key, and transmits the encrypted content to the recording medium device.

  • Patent number: 7991155
Abstract: To provide a backup management device that deletes a content so as to be restorable in the future while protecting a copyright of the content, in a case where there exists a backup of the content. In an HD recorder, a first information storage unit stores a content, a second information storage unit stores a backup of the content, a secure storage unit stores a hash value of the content. If receiving an instruction to delete the content so as to be restorable, a control unit deletes the content from the first information storage unit. When the content is played back, an encryption processing unit applies a calculation to the content to generate detection information, and the control unit compares the hash value with the detection information to judge whether the content has been tampered.

  • Patent number: 7974926
Abstract: Provided is a new system for content use and settlement. A user requests a mobile telephone charge management server (3000) to perform proxy settlement for goods purchased using mobile telephones 1 (4100), 2 (4200) and 3 (4300). The mobile telephone charge management server (3000) makes an inquiry to a registration server (3100) as to whether or not proxy settlement is possible. When proxy settlement is not possible, the mobile telephone performs settlement using electronic money that has been deposited therein.

  • Patent number: 7856168
Abstract: The recorder/reproducer, when moving a first content data, writes a second content data, which is obtained by re-coding the first content data recorded in a first recording medium, into a second recording medium instead of the first content data, writes one or more first partial information extracted from the first content data into the second recording medium, and makes the first content data irreproducible, using one or more first invalidated partial information having one-to-one correspondence with the extracted one or more first partial information. When restoring the first content data, it makes the irreproducible first content data reproducible, using the one or more first partial information recorded in the second recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20100229069
Abstract: A drive device is provided to promote copyright protection by preventing playback of copied contents, even if unique identification information on a recording medium, used to generate title keys for decrypting encrypted contents, is revealed, and the contents are independently encrypted and copied using this identification information. Identification information unique to a recording medium 103 and used to generate title keys is recorded thereon, along with a signature for the identification information issued by a certificate authority terminal device 101. Before decryption and playback of the encrypted contents, a drive in a playback device 104 performs signature verification. When verification fails, the drive does not output the identification information. A program for playback in the playback device 104 therefore cannot generate a decryption key and fails to decrypt and play back the encrypted contents. The signature is not output externally.

  • Publication number: 20100223477
Abstract: A content playback apparatus (digital watermark detection apparatus) comprises: a detection unit operable to detect a digital watermark from audio data having a plurality of blocks, the audio data being contained in a content which is to be played back along a playback time-line; a detected block storage unit for storing therein information indicating a block in which the digital watermark has been detected by the detection unit; and a playback control unit operable to play back all data contained in the content other than audio data corresponding to the block indicated by the information stored in the detected block storage unit. This makes it possible, even when audio data containing copyright information is inadvertently recorded on a camcorder, to prevent the audio data containing the copyright information from being played back, thereby enabling users to view the content without the influence of playback control.

  • Patent number: 7774852
Abstract: Provided is a health care system including a key management server that receives from a server a request for a decryption key, with first identification information identifying a measuring apparatus, second identification information identifying vital sign data, and third identification information identifying the server. The key management server generates the decryption key using the first identification information, and stores fourth identification information identifying a server predetermined as a destination of the decryption key, and fifth identification information indicating the category of the vital sign data in correspondence with the fourth identification information. The key management server transmits the decryption key to the server, when the received third identification information matches the fourth identification information, and the received second identification information matches the fifth identification information.
