  • Publication number: 20150139305
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an image processing device and a method capable of suppressing the reduction of an image quality due to encoding/decoding. The image processing device includes: a quantization unit that when orthogonal transform processing is skipped with respect to a current block, quantizes all components of the current block using one weighting coefficient and when the orthogonal transform processing is performed on the current block, quantizes each component of the current block using a quantization matrix; an encoding unit that encodes the coefficient of the current block which is quantized by the quantization unit; and a transmission unit that transmits the coded data of the current block which is obtained by being encoded by the encoding unit. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, an image processing device.

  • Publication number: 20150092846
Abstract: The present technology relates to a decoding device and a decoding method capable of reducing the amount of information relating to information specifying a reference image. A reception unit receives inter_ref_pic_set_prediction_flag representing whether reference image specifying information specifying a reference image, which is used for generating a predicted image, of a prior image that is an image prior to a current coding image in coding order that is transmitted in a case where the current coding image is an image other than a first image of a GOP (Group of Picture) is used as the reference image specifying information of the current coding image. The present technology, for example, can be applied to a decoding device of an HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) system.

  • Patent number: 8811480
Abstract: An encoding apparatus includes the following elements. A prediction picture generation unit is configured to generate a prediction picture using a reference picture. A transmission unit is configured to transmit reference disablement information indicating, for all pictures, whether reference picture specification information for a preceding picture that precedes each of the pictures in encoding order is not to be used as the reference picture specification information for the picture, the reference picture specification information being information specifying the reference picture.

  • Publication number: 20130015914
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of a transmitter of the invention is provided. The transmitter includes a shaping means and a digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The shaping means digitally shapes a digital signal. The DAC is arranged to convert the shaped digital signal into an analog signal. The shaping means is arranged to decrease energy at an edge of an in-band portion of a frequency spectrum of the digital signal so as to lower a spectral re-growth of the analog signal happened after the DAC.

  • Patent number: 8107374
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing generalized link adaptation in an orthogonal frequency-division multiple access wireless communications network can include determining a number of desired resource blocks (RBs) for each user of a plurality of users; calculating a maximal channel gain Gm for each RB of a plurality of RBs; reordering the plurality of RBs based on the Gm; assigning one of the plurality of RBs to the plurality of users one-by-one according to the reordering of the plurality of RBs; determining a priority list for assigning remaining unassigned RBs; assigning the remaining unassigned RBs to the plurality of users based on the priority list; and mapping a symbol or a packet to each assigned RB.
