The cloth pressing device includes a presser bar, a presser foot rotatably coupled to a lower end portion of the presser bar, an elastic member having a base end portion which is supported by the presser bar and a tip end portion which is engageable with a tip side portion of the presser foot to downwardly bias the tip side portion of the presser foot, and an adjusting mechanism operable to move the tip end portion of the elastic member between a position at which the tip end portion of the elastic member engages with the tip side portion of the presser foot and another position at which the tip end portion of the elastic member does not engage with the tip side portion of the presser foot.

Abstract: An upper looper driving device of a sewing machine is provided. The device includes an upper looper driving shaft which is rotatable around an axis thereof, an upper looper holder having an upper end portion at which the upper looper is held, an upper looper swinging arm having one end portion supported by the upper looper driving shaft such that a position of the upper looper swinging arm is adjustable along an axial direction of the upper looper driving shaft and the other end portion to which the upper looper holder is rotatably coupled, and an upper looper guide slidably holding the upper looper holder. The upper looper guide is supported by a frame of the sewing machine such that a position of the upper looper guide is adjustable along a direction parallel to the axial direction of the upper looper driving shaft.

A point at which the front presser spring presses the auxiliary presser is on a downstream side of the portion of the auxiliary presser coupled to the presser foot.
