  • Publication number: 20140314201
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for measuring an effective atomic number of an object are disclosed. The apparatus includes: a ray source configured to product a first X-ray beam having a first energy and a second X-ray beam having a second energy; a Cherenkov detector configured to receive the first X-ray beam and the second X-ray beam that pass through an object under detection, and to generate a first detection value and a second detection value; and a data processing device configured to obtain an effective atomic number of the object based on the first detection value and the second detection value. The Cherenkov detector can eliminate disturbance of X-rays below certain energy threshold with respect to the object identification, and thus accuracy can be improved for object identification.

Abstract: Deuterium isobaric tag reagents are provided for the quantitation of biomolecules, where the reagents contain heavy isotope atoms, including one or more 2H in each reagent. Generally, the reagents are described by the formula: reporter group—balancer group—reactive group, wherein the reporter group and the balancer group are linked by an MS/MS scissionable bond. Each of the reporter group and balancer groups independently contain 0 to 9 heavy isotope atoms selected from 13C, 15N and 2H and the total number of 2H atoms in each reagent is 1 to 6. The mass of the reporter group is from 114-123 Daltons. Exemplary deuterium isobaric tag reagents include Di-ART, DiART-t-I, DiART-t-Br and DiART-t-M. Also provided are compositions containing more than one deuterium isobaric tag reagent and methods for making and using deuterium isobaric tag reagents.

  • Publication number: 20110139788
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus with flexible membrane for oil storage and transportation, comprising of outer wall, installation opening, blocking cover, oil inlet, oil outlet and breathing orifice. The membrane is arranged in outer wall and fixed in the installation opening or the fixing part of outer wall. The rest of membrane is separated from outer wall. Valve and quick coupling are arranged in both oil inlet and oil outlet. The chamber made of membrane stores the oil in a sealed condition to let the breathing take place outside the membrane so as to prevent direct breathing of oil with air, reduce breathing loss, protect the environment, minimize oxidation of oil, prevent water from entering oil and improve the quality of oil. Also, it prevents oil vapor from mixing with air to improve the safety of storage and transportation as well as reduce the risk of fire and explosion. The flexible structure of the membrane facilitates the resistance to impact and other outer forces.
