    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for wireless communications are disclosed. For example, one method includes detecting a procedure and determining the procedure is a qualifying procedure. The method further includes detecting one or more handover events indicative of handover procedures, where the handover procedures interfere with the execution of the qualifying procedure. The method also includes comparing a radio frequency condition of the communication between a user equipment and a source access point with a threshold value based on the radio frequency condition and delaying handover procedures for a predefined time based on the comparison, wherein the delaying of the handover procedures occurs when the detected procedure is the qualifying procedure and when the radio frequency condition satisfies a threshold that is based on the threshold value.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to operating a user equipment (UE) in a first radio access network (RAN) with a first set of modem features that supports the first RAN, detecting a second RAN not supported by the first set of modem features, and rebooting the modem software to load a second set of modem features that supports the detected RAN. For certain aspects, the first RAN may be a Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) network and the second RAN may be a Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA) network or long term evolution network. This allows features to be loaded into memory (e.g., only) when they are required to support a detected RAN, rather than loading an entire image, thereby conserving DRAM and increasing efficiency.

The UE may store a flag to note whether a current circuit switched (CS) call in the 2G/3G network is a result of a CSFB. The UE, in response to detecting a termination of the current CS call in the 2G/3G network and determining that the terminated call was a CSFB call (e.g., from the status of the flag), may trigger a mobility mechanism to autonomously return the UE to the LTE network.

    Abstract: Circuit-switched fallback (CSFB) is a technique to deliver voice-services to a mobile, when the mobile is camped in a long-term evolution (LTE) network. This may be required when the LTE network does not support voice services natively. If a user makes a mobile originating (MO) call, or receives a mobile terminating (MT) call, the UE may inform the LTE network that the UE is leaving for the call by initiating a call setup procedure. However, there may be instances where the call setup procedure may fail. If the call setup procedure was either not initiated, or was initiated but failed, the UE may determine to search for a suitable CS RAT/cell on its own without instructions/commands from the network. Therefore, certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for the UE to find CS services based on information collected at the UE.
