    Abstract: A transfer mechanism for turret indexing and positioning system includes an output shaft configured to hold a turret and a hydraulically controlled three-piece tooth type shaft coupling arranged to brake the output shaft at a precise position of the turret. A follower is secured to the output shaft by a conic ring. A locking nut that can be rapidly and independently affixed is used to provide an optimal clearance between a rotational sleeve and a reference sleeve of a three-piece tooth type shaft coupling during the rotation of the turret.
